  • Hey Guys,

Just need a little help if possible!! I am well on my way to being organised for Xmas 2009, but there is one present I am stuck on!! I am trying to make a Musical themed hamper for a friend and I am getting stuck for ideas :o

    Currently I only have:

CD boxset of musical songs £1.99
Never Forget the musical DVD £4.00 (we recently went to see this and she loved it!)

I only wanted to spend about £10, so only have £4 left! I already have the box and wrapping paper to wrap it and pack it, just need some other things to put in the hamper itself.

Anyone have any idea what else I can buy, with a very small budget of £4?

    Thanks in advance!
    Hels xxx

Hels if you have a poundland or something similar near you they seem to have musical hardback books in from time to time so might be worth looking if they have any for a pound. Sorry thats all i can think of. You don't have any old musicals LP's on vinyl do you as you could make a vinyl bowl with one?

Did my first official bit of xmas shopping today. Couldn't resist the bargains I found on HalfCost (many thanks to whoever mentioned that site earlier in the thread!)
So have bought a funky coloured makeup bag with brushes for little sis, who's only 13 (£1) May also get her some bright socks from primark to go with this.
A few vodka glass and 50ml sets (£1), will do for Dad and brother with a pair of socks each (they ask for socks every year and never get them lol).
A few of the little metal buckets at a £1 each, either to fill with crayons and give as gifts to friends' kids or to keep for my lot!
A few of the Fragrant Gardener bath soaks and hand creams, just because I loved the name! Thought they'd go nice in a little basket as mini gift sets for my step mother and MIL, also £1 each item.
In total (including delivery) I spent £16, just got £20 payment from Quidco so I'm calling it free lol. Esp if OH asks!

Have you got the link for where you got your vodka/glass sets from? they always go down well with my lot as stocking fillers... ;)

  • WOW

For those of you who remember me saying that my brother is serving in afganistan and i was lost at to what to get him for xmas as all he drinks is grey goose vodka (which is expensive and i couldnt find a local stockist) i had a brilliant delivery this morning.

I wrote of a letter to grey goose telling them about my brother, what he is doing and how much he loves grey goose vodka and asking for a stockist list thanks to someone who supplied me with the address and this morning i recieved big parcel with a 70cl bottle of grey goose, a glass, cocktail shaker and a lovely letter supporting my brother.

I am in shock and tears. Its so nice to think that someone cares about what my brother is doing out there. I am absolutely gobsmacked that they have sent me a bottle, at most i was expecting a few beer mats that i could put in his hamper.

So it was definately worth writing the letter, even though yesterday i was thinking that nothing would come of it.

My brother is going to be over the moon - he's back home in a few weeks and we cant wait. I just need to find a really nice frame for his letter from Mr grey goose.

It has made my week. Thank you to the person who supplied me with the address, i will go through the thread later and find your name and thank you personnaly.

Wow. Oh My God. It just proves that there are some nice people out there. :D Well done!!! :T I'd write the company a nice thank you letter. It might get them to do it a bit more for other well deserving people. I hope your brother enjoys his pressie.

It was me who suggested writing to them and giving you the address, princesswoo. Normally I like blending into the background and not tooting me own horn much, but having read your post I'm all choked up that the Grey Goose people were so kind, so I have de-lurked to say well done and to add my best wishes to your brother too. It just goes to show that there are some lovely people out there. :)

Its had me on a right high all day, Did go into town to get some xmas bits but had to cut my trip short and come home as i thought my waters had broke, so now im pacing around clock watching to see if anything else triggers off.

decided to do my auntie and uncle a "holiday hamper" for x-mas as they go away alot and i thought this would be nicer than a bottle of wine as they have always been my closest a&u. so far on my list for it i have, condiments, small body washes &sprays shampoo's ect - they have them on offer in asda. and was going to get a couple of expandble flannels, can any one think of anything else? was thinking of flasks but they already have a few of those. any help much appreciated.
