I like the idea of the tree with extra gifts on it. But I have 6 kids at home; I don't think our tree is strong enough to carry them all for a week!
Mmmmm. But little gifts. Will have a think about that.0 -
You could add them on a daily basis!0

Secondly, to keep the Christmas feeling going a bit longer for the children, we have the tradition of hanging small wrapped presents on the tree, and they are allowed to open one per day between Boxing Day and New Year's Eve. It makes them ridiculously happy to still be getting little gifts for a whole week after Christmas. With sufficient advance planning, it's possible to do this very cheaply (I have 2 daughters, so it's fairly easy to keep them happy with bargains from Claire's Accessories, or items from the gift-with-purchase make up sets from Boots etc during the year which I squirrel away for them).
Possibly I spoil them
I love this Idea, I am definatley piching it CJ, my 2 boys would love this, LO is always saying is there any more presents.
Thanks for sharing

Where's the Coffee?? Show me the Coffee NOW!!0 -
Maybe you could frame the Woolies voucher and give it to someone as a jokey gift?
I am SO loving this thread - it's nice to be in the company of other people who like to start getting organized this early. I just get strange looks from my work colleagues if I mention Christmas in July
My little tip: that week in between Christmas and New Year often feels a bit of an anti-climax after all the months and months of planning, so I have always done two things. Firstly, I plan a lovely day JUST FOR ME in the week after Christmas (sort of my reward for making it all happen, I suppose!), so I have something to look forward to. This is a day when I don't do any cooking, and pamper myself with nice bath/beauty products, and laze about on the bed reading magazines while being brought cups of tea by my grateful OH and/or children. I sometimes have to remind them to be grateful

Haha that could be a good idea! Might just keep it in case it becomes an antique and worth lots of money though like Snowbrow suggested xD
That week between Christmas and New Year is an annoying week because I usually have to work. I'm not going to this year though hopefully!
It sounds like you've got those weeks planned out well. The kids sound like they enjoy getting little gifts after Christmas! We always give gifts on New Years Eve at midnight to celebrate the new year..Sometimes.I.Wonder.Why.I'm.Still.Here..Sometimes.I.Think.I'm.Going.Crazy.0 -
right girlies - I need gold wrapping paper - cheap as possible but I want to buy it now (best if it is plain too).
Went to home bargains yesterday as they have cheap rolls but they were a funny grainy quality I didn't like.
So as anyone seen any anywhere ??? - may try b and m too...
Got to get it all ready for christmas now
Have loads of gold luxury ribbon for ladies presents and going to make tags with names on cut out on my cricut( have to dig out gold paper and card) Going to start making tags and want them all done by the end of this month. For the men - any other colour I think (would like black or silver which I have seen cheap somewhere) with some kind of manly tag on - but no ribbon on theres.0 -

Hi CJ and thanks for this idea I think it's great! WE normally have a load of family over on Boxing Day so that is still very Christmassy but I could do 5 presents for 27,28, 29, 30 and 31st on the tree Hope I manage to find some little bits as my son is more tricky though DD is a breeze!0 -
oh i'm glad i'm not the only one thinking about christmas in july especially now that we have a extra addition to the family well she was here last here but this will be the first year that she notices anything.
i've always really fancied doing the hampers but i have always been worried about wrapping them in the cellophene any one got any tips.0 -
liley I remember last year someone posting a really good diagram of how to wrap the hampers I think it was Rustyflange tho may be wrong!
You could ask her or pm her otherwise as she does nappycakes etc and they are fab so i am sure she would know how to do it all properly!0
