I've just ordered my new oven! I'm so excited :j
I've been wanting a new one for ages as my old one is awful but I kept putting it off thinking maybe I should save the money. Well, it's made the decision for me as it has just died. Dinner has been in for nearly an hour and is barely warm and the oven has hardly any heat coming from it. Dh has gone to the chip shop and I've ordered a new oven from Currys. It being delivered on Saturday, I thought it would be a much longer wait.
I get to cook Christmas dinner in a brand new oven, yeay:T!!!Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Hiya, I was hoping someone could please help me. I dont know if this is in the right place but I dont think there would be a right place for this on the site as its nothing to do with money saving, but Ive noticed alot of you make christmas cakes so hopefully someone can help me! My MIL has made us a christmas cake, and althrough I LOVE christmas cake and icing, I hate marzipan, and it is usually a messy business, so I was wondering if there was anyway to ice a cake without marzipan? or if I am better off leaving it uniced?? Thanks!!'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0

My dad is finally finished!
Just need to order a toy for my niece, get DD to decide what she's getting her dad and then I'm done
This is kind of late for me, but I thought I was going to be running around on the 23rd looking still :rotfl:
Oh and I've also booked my Asda food/drink delivery for the 22nd December - I can edit my order up until 10pm the 21st and I know that it will be here.Anything I have forgotten or they haven't in stock I'll have 2 days to get it before the Xmas eve chaos
I was panicking as their Twitter account was saying things were filling up fast but when I logged in there was plenty of slots still available.
I got grief today from my colleagues as Asda is less than a mile straight up the road but as I pointed out
- I save my back/arms from the weight of the shopping and having to haul/carry it home
- I save money as there's no "oooo lets try thats" as I shop around
- if I order loads (and this shop will include Januarys stuff as well) I'd have to get a taxi back costing me at least £4
- I don't have to deal with the heaving shop, its all done from the comfort of my chair
therefore also saving my legs from prams/buggies/wheelchairs/scooters as well as my sanity as the only screaming kid I have to cope with is DD :rotfl:
- Since I order mainly smartprice products, I get a good deal if they don't have it in stock as they will substitute it with the nearest (and usually more expensive) equivalent
- I can triple (or quintuple) check my order to make sure I have EVERYTHING
:D:D Now I'm off to clear the decks so I can try and redress my tree with some bargain decorations I couldn't resist in Asda today - all half-price or less as the packaging was damaged :money: DD is over joyed that I managed to get some golden mirror ball decorations to go with the silver ones we already had
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Hello everyone, does anyone know where I could buy some reasonably priced x-mas tree lights, that are white/clear and twinkle gently as opposed to flashing manically?lol
I want slow twinkling instead of disco fever!Am I being too fussy?:female:Our 2 gorgeous little girls born 2006 and 2010
