I posted all my cards this morning (having spent most of Sunday writing them:eek:) have still got lots left to write though!

I boasted a while ago that I'd got all my presents and they were all wrapped and ready but I've now got to confess that I keep buying little 'bits'. For example - my DIL loves a cup of tea in the morning but never gives herself time to drink one. So I've got her a thermal cup (from Amazon, £2.99, free p&p) so she can drink it in the car (son drives) and then on the train. OH (very hard to buy for) suddenly showed an interest in 3 new science books that he'd read about in the Times, and this morning, I got all 3 on Play.com for £15 (dead chuffed as one was RRP at £20). I am going to try now and not buy anything else!;)

    I've been naughty again :D

Did the family present drop at the weekend so cant buy anything more for them, however did help my mum out by spotting 3 things in Asda my Dad would love - mentioned them to her in passing and it turned out she had been desperately looking for some more stocking fillers for him, so she nipped along and picked them up.
Today I went to Derby to pick up a cinema gift voucher for step-SIL and her hubby, and an M&S voucher for step-MIL (OH, bless him, is on rotten overtime at the minute so he was very grateful when I offered to pick them up for him) While I was there I bought OH a pair of jeans and a past-season Calvin Klein belt from TJ Hughes (we dont have one here and he had expressed a liking for the £4 jeans when he saw them in the paper) but I got some sort of deal so I got a couple of quid off.
I also got him a nice jumper for £6 in Primark, a bargain in Sainsbury's - the Gran Torino DVD for a fiver, and M&S have an offer on men's underwear and socks - so I got him 10 pairs of pants for £5.50 as opposed to £4 for 5!
Only 2 more presents to buy... but Im waiting for a pair of Ben Sherman PJ's for him and a Virgin Experience box - afternoon tea in a London hotel!!! :D He has been well and truly spoiled - AGAIN!!! :rotfl:

My decorations are going up this weekend!:j:j

Did anyone been watching Kirstys Homemade Christmas? I was chuffed when she said that she like tinsel on her tree, so many celebs pooh-pooh it! My family tree is smothered with lights, tinsel and multie coloured baubles:p I am more restrained (and refined) with the tree that sits in the window though:D

What about everyone else? What do you do? Colour co-ordinated and minimal or not a bit of tree to be seen?

Thought I was all done but my MIL wanted an idea for my OH I know he has bought me an ipod touch and reaaly fancied one himself but had the money off me to put towards a new computer so I mentioned it to them they said they were sticking to a budget so could afford it I suggested that instead of buying my OH some stocking filers I'd give them £40-50 towards it (he would have rathered the ipod to stocking fillers) so thought hey ho all done. They told me today that they've decided to give it to him themselves so i could buy him a stocking I know they just want the best for their little boy - she does still call him her little boy at almost 40!!!. Now I have to start shopping grrrrr what shall i get him???

How about some acessories for the iPod? A docking speaker set, case, earphones (I don't like the iPod ones, myself), an iTunes voucher (Morrisons have a deal on)?

I sat and wrapped pressies tonight, put them in a gift bag per person and sealed them to stop me adding any extras. Feel much calmer now everything is done as usually Id be finished around September but left it late this year.

Ive also done 3 grandchildrens birthdays in January, and my daughter-in-laws birthday in February including all cards today.

H&B has some lovey gift bags and paper so Im going to stock up in the sales.

  • ive wrapped all my presents now thank god. it took me ages to add all the ribbons and tags but i have to admit that they do look beautiful. wrote all of dd1 class christmas card (got her to sign them herself though) and all of dd2 nursery cards. Just gotta write friends and family ones now.

Ive now decided to visit my sisters later and deliver their bag of presents for my sister, bil, 2 nephews, neice and there three partners. The only major thing ive got left to do is to sort out my turkey, my mums supposed to be doing it but she said she doesnt know which one to pick so she wants me to pick on myself and she'll pay for it.

Feels quite strange to be this organised.
