  • I have wrapped up all my presents and they are under the tree. I'm having a practice run of the dessert which is Delia's chocolate torte which is now chilling in the fridge. I've also made the gravy using Jamie Olivers recipe which will be on his show this week. It's cooling as I type just waiting to be put in the freezer and will defrost and add the turkey juices on christmas day. Smells delicious.

Not dumb at all - you sieve whatever jam you intend to use (apricot is the traditional one, but I use whatever I've got - have even used honey in the past) to get rid of the 'bits' so you end up with a very smooth syrup like consistancy. You don't need to use a lot, just a very thin coating.:D
You need to heat the jam so that it is runnier

I love this, so easy to make and tastes gorgerous :D. This can be frozen and you can slice it whilst it is frozen. I think I may have to do a practice run of this :rotfl:

Did anyone watch the Kirstie's Homemade Christmas programmes? She made some lovely beaded tree ornaments and I intend to make some over the xmas hols, ready for next year. Unlike Kirstie I didn't have any old jewelry but when I went into Primarks to get some socks, I found they sell gorgeous beaded, elasticated bracelets at approx £1 for a set of 5!! I chose a pearl set and an amber set, this is a much cheaper way of buying beads (well for me anyway as I don't normally do bead projects). I can't wait to get started:p
