wrapped presents today partly to stop me buying extra bits!!!

That would just be too dangerous for me - i would forget what i had and buy it again - leaving me with of most things.

Shall be doing all mine in mid - november - cant wait to send the kids to my mums and crack on whilst drinking wine and watching an xmas dvd whilst eating mince pies and chocolates.

    Hi everyone!!

Glad to see everyones getting on well with their Christmas shopping!! Im waiting impatiently for payday next week - I just want to get on with it now though!!

I've ordered some stuff from the book man at work for my best mate although I swore I wouldnt buy her anything else!! We have three lots of book men coming round so there's loads of stuff. My mate loves Gok Wan (she still hasnt forgiven me for bumping into him in a hotel in Birmingham when she was upstairs drying her hair!!!) so I've got her his new book - 'Work your Wardrobe' - worth £18.99 - for £7 from the Book People! Couldnt pass that up. Plus the cutest cat calendar (she loves cats) for £3. Luckily they arent delivering till Tuesday so by the time they bank the cheques I will have been paid!! More stuff to wrap - yay!!

Good idea! I find myself being bad at that this year due to starting early, so I think I'll do some pre-emptive wrapping to stop me from getting any worse!

    Hi All

Well I've been through my Xmas boxes today and have found lots fo things i had totally forgotten I'd brought - although am slightly stumped cos i know i brought the book of the snowman and now cant find it but am happy to say i am ahead of myself as far as bens shopping is concerned which is nice as i was panicking a bit about his stuff

Owen has given me a small list of things he wants and that comes to about £110 which is ok with a few little treats here and there he is easily sorted.

Ben however did his Christmas list with me this morning and it came to £497!!!!!:eek: but I have cut it back to £200 (we have agreed this for each boy this year) so that's not too bad and I have picked up a few bits for an Xmas eve hamper for Ben and gotten a few pieces together already for him - little bits - so he shouldn't need much more and some of the things are re gifted from last year that I gave him and he never played with (like a spider man mug and hot chocolate set - going to replace the hot chocolate sachets inside and he can have that in his Xmas eve hamper then . He also had two small Lego sets which were in his stocking which i think ill put in there again for him - he didn't even open the box last year so why waste them? He also wants a police station Lego set which is in Argos for £30+ but in Wilkinson's there is a very similar one for £19.99 at half price so might see if i can get him that one instead.

So all in all a fairly productive day - just need to sit down and go over a few bits and pieces now and get on with making things and finishing gifts off now.
    Time to find me again

Can anyone recommend something I can serve to my vegetarian mum on xmas day? She's not too keen on ready made veggy products like Linda MC etc so anything like that would have to be pretty tasty and recommended by an actualy veggy - otherwise is there something I can easily make myself as an alternative to the meat, not nut loaf as there's only one of her.

    Thanks
My mum does a cheese pie which is so popular even the non vegetarians (like my nephew) eat it...she also serves it up when she has friends round for the same reason! It actually gets requested! This could be made as an individual pie prettily trimmed and glazed...

Started Christmas early last year and ended up buying far too much and spending a huge amount. This year i have done nothing . I will make a list with strict spending limits and stick to it !

That is just it you need a spending limit because otherwise all the glitter and tinsel goes to your head and you end up buying all the lovely stuff just because it is beautifully packaged:D

  • hi everyone - not been on here for a few days and had loads of bits to read up on! there some good ideas that i have read - so roll on payday monday - whoop!) when can do some more xmas bits!
have done all of my flannel cakes (made the chocolate log style ones) and they are all wrapped in celophane so thats good.
have picked up a couple things over the week though - nothing too expensive but all going towards the present store under the bed....and cupboard...and loft...and mums spare room! lol.

morrisons have disney puzzles for only £1.50.
i got my friend two - one with tinkerbell on and another aristocrats one; both with 100 pieces. They had lots of others; little mermaid, sleeping beauty, mickey mouse etc.
They also had some with 50 peices in too, so guess thats good for the younger puzzlers! thought good idea for some if doing xmas eve hamper to bulk it up.
i also won a warhammer case for my boyfriend for £19.99 on ebay including postage from a shop on there, its great and just what he is wanting so thats part of his birthday present done! :j

going to pop to boots and ssee if can get the gillette gift set thats advertised on here for £3.75 on monday get one or two for present fillers so thats good too.
Am off on holiday to disney paris on 23rd november, :Tso am very excited and most money is being saved for there! we not going to be buying many xmas presents for other people from there as the cost and the way the euro's are. only select people getting bits from there, will end up buying each other bits though (which is perfectly acceptable!) lol ,:p hope everyone is well!
:heart2:Married my Prince Charming on 15th April 2011 - perfect day!

Our little princess born 8th June - she is amazing!! :grinheart
