Afternoon ladies.
Ok, with baby due mid December, I'm not really contributing to much regarding cooking or preparations around Christmas itself (normally do a few bits for Christmas dinner, and always cook Christmas eve meal.). Anyway, I fancied making some crackers - 7 for Christmas day with the inlaws, and 5 for new years eve with my parents and Nan. I've bought some very cheap 'make your own crackers' off ebay, but I'm now at a loss as to what to put in them.
With my parents, I could put an alcohol miniture in them or something, or anything tacky as they are just in it for the fun!! lol (Btw, minatures are SO hard to find now - anyone have any ideas where the best places are to find them??)
Witht he inlaws I'd like to find something a bit different. I did think of a keyring with a picture of the baby in, but as I could technically not be giving birth until just after Christmas if baby's very late, it won't work out. So any suggestions at all?
Thanks all!
Clare x
Hi, Supermarkets sometimes have minatures at their cigarette counters, under glass. I have definately seen some in Asda. My Gran collects them so I am always looking for different ones. Can't believe how many she has (all unopened)!!:D:xmassmileExcited about Christmas 2009:xmassmile

inapickle - that sounds really nice im sure she will love it.
i want to get tom some little people just for putting in his cars and trains, he is currently using one of my wise men and mary from my nativity set he got his hands on them last year, has anyone seen any? any help appreciated thanks,
Thanks! Can't quite think of a solution to the 'little people' problem, but I would suggest lego/playmobile people if you can't find a better solution. I'd suggest an internet search, but measure how big the space he can fit the people in and see if they will fit, first: imagine your little people being too big! :rolleyes:Please call me 'Pickle'

As always money is tight this year so we have cut our budget in half (me and mum sis hubby son and sis oh) so Instead of crackers this year we are doing a £5 secret santa where you have to do your best with a fiver and this year amd the girls pressies have to be pink and the boys yellow/blue we are matching the £5's then and giing them to breast cancer/men's cancer
much more fun as well cos i amd determind to make the most of my fiver
You're welcome! And what a good (and charitable idea) for Christmas. I may very well do something similar...thanks for the stolen idea!

I need some help with inspiration, I have pretty much sorted what to make/buy for everyone although I am stuck with
2 year old boy (friends child) so don't need much just a token gift
and
2 sets of auntie and uncles (they live away so would need to be posted and not heavy or expensive)
They usually send a present jointly, usually cheque if there not visiting.
Really stuck as for my hubbys aunts/uncle I usually bake goodies and do them up in a hamper/stocking but can't send this in the post
