Have a friend who is nowadays difficult to buy for as we don't see each other very often, but I nipped into BHS on my lunch break today and found a VW campervan money box that is the same colour as the one she has and uses for holidays, so I'm going to fill it with chocolate coins and give it to her, telling her to use it to save her holiday money in. What do you guys think to that? We don't buy each other big presents, and it seemed something she would like. Please call me 'Pickle'

Last year I bought the happyland figures reduced by 20% in ELC and bought make your own crackers from poundland, and put the little people inside them! It meant my daughter could enjoy the crackers more as the toy was at least useable for her age group!0

not done much over the last few days for xmas due to a HUGE phone bill! grr!
but i have ordered a book from ebay for father in law for £11.56 delivered - £19.99 in wh smiths so that was a saving! plus it was money from some old clothes that paid for it so technically -cost nothing!
ive also done a robin crossstitch and halfway through a rudolph one too. as im not able to spend money atm this is fulfilling my xmas addiction and i think ill make them into gift tags when theyre done.0 -
Afternoon ladies.
Ok, with baby due mid December, I'm not really contributing to much regarding cooking or preparations around Christmas itself (normally do a few bits for Christmas dinner, and always cook Christmas eve meal.). Anyway, I fancied making some crackers - 7 for Christmas day with the inlaws, and 5 for new years eve with my parents and Nan. I've bought some very cheap 'make your own crackers' off ebay, but I'm now at a loss as to what to put in them.
With my parents, I could put an alcohol miniture in them or something, or anything tacky as they are just in it for the fun!! lol (Btw, minatures are SO hard to find now - anyone have any ideas where the best places are to find them??)
Witht he inlaws I'd like to find something a bit different. I did think of a keyring with a picture of the baby in, but as I could technically not be giving birth until just after Christmas if baby's very late, it won't work out. So any suggestions at all?
Thanks all!

cdsmiler I'm sure someone on here mentioned a place online you can order miniatures from? maybe google it. Otherwise most off-licenses will have them behind the counter - Supermarkets tend not to unless in gift sets as they are so easy to steal!
I saw cracker kits in Poundland earlier, wishing I had bought some now - I couldn't think at the time what I'd put in them but have since had loads of ideas. Bet they'll all be gone next time I'm in there...
Amazon have amazed me, I ordered a diary and calendar (last present on my list!) yesterday and it arrived today - with the free super saver delivery!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
