I think I know (more or less) who's having what from the hoard of stuff now covering the spare bed -and floor -but no themes...........all a bit of a mixture of stuff I've picked up cheap.
I have got a list of names and possibles that they'll get but it keeps changing
Got a few birthdays to get out of the way, then I might get more sorted
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I tried to make some tree decorations last night and it was a bit of a failure :( I cut some stars out of cardboard, and I was going to layer up some of this nice gold ribbon over it in a criss-cross kind of pattern, but because the ribbon is made of mesh type material, the glue just made it curl round and it wouldn't stick :( Back to the drawing board!

I have been super organised today.

I have been shopping and got loads of stuff to make cards and tags.

I have made 6 pots of gold, 3 retro sweet jars, 2 knickerbocker glory sweet jars and 3 x baby sock spice jars. :)

Just gonna whip some labels together to finish them off nicely and i may just post a pic later. Just cos im so pleased with myself.

Although the woman in the shop said - you're buying xmas stuff in July are you mental? NO was my reply just super organised.

Part of the Furniture 100 Posts Combo Breaker
Went to the Co-Op today and (in the sale) they were selling 2 pink (also blue and lilac) stemmed wine goblets (in a box) for £4. I bought 3 bottles of the Rose Cava in Mr S yesterday at £4.99 a bottle, so I bought 3 sets of glasses and now have 3 presents for 3 grown up nephews and their partners. These are nephews who live quite a distance away and I don't see often and hardly know their partners at all. Booze seems a safe option and I hope the glasses will make it feel a proper joint present, rather than 'A present to my nephew and whoever he's with nowadays!':D

Everyone seems to be organised and enjoying the preparations - Well Done:j:T:beer:

I'll post a pic in a little while - once i figure out how.

They wont be completely finished as im leaving little bits for the kids to help me with.

Instead of me signing the tags and xmas cards on everyone's behalf were going to leave a fingerprint instead - to do this i have got some clear pigment ink pads and xmas coloured embossing powder (red - green - gold).
I think it will look soooooo cute seing 3 tiny fingerprints on the gift tags and all 5 of us are going to sign our xmas cards this way.

There is very much a handprint - footprint theme going on this year, im going to make some handprint pictures and frame them alongside a nice pic of the kids for all the relatives, cheap and personnal, providing i can get the kids to co-operate that is.

You are so so organised. I need to see a piccy.

well so far today I have started to plan my kids Xmas. Last year there was a grabbit fora graco doll set with pushchair, cot, highchair and doll and with quidco plus voucher codes it was something silly like £12.I bought it and it is currently im my attic so thats a start. Asda are selling 2 pairs of dora socks for £1 in the sale at the moment so I have picked up 2 sets for my eldest. The little one is a problem. She will only be 18 months come Christmas which is quite difficult to buy for,too old for baby stuff but not old enough for typical toys.

Here is what i did today. It has taken me hours and hours to do, but i am happy witht he results although they dont look that good in the photo's.

    Pots of gold:
Glass - Free (been lurking in my cupboards for years)
    Scratchcard - £1
Worthers sweets - 3 bags for £1.87 (wilkinsons)
    Gold coins - 99p (cadbury)
Each pot has cost me about £1.50 to make.

I borrowed the poem of the pot of gold thread on here.
Added 2 little gold bells and wrapped them up.

    Sweet jars:
    Jars 31 each (poundland)
sweeets 99p per bag (jelly babies, skittles, midget gems, etc) i used 3 bags per jar.
Silver coins 35p per jar (thorntons)
    Wrapped and labelled them.

    knickerbocker glory sweet jars:
    jar £1.29 (the range)
    sweets (various - local shop)

    th_20090717_401.jpg

    Sock candy jars:
I have made 10 of these.
10 pack speice jars (£5.99 the range)
    10 pairs socks (£5 primark)
labells were made on the pc, i removed the spice jar top as it wasnt looking right with it on there. I cut a circle of felt and put it on the top secured with an elastic band, wrapped a bit of tinsel pipe clener around it and hey presto!

The sock candy jars are so cute - i am going to keep one in my DD baby memory box unopened.
