For a nostalgia hamper, you'd also need some Clackers and a Rotaskip (but heaven knows where you'd find those nowadays ... maybe you could make your own, the way we did with Blue Peter Instructions back in the day!!)

Oh, and a Mousetrap game! And a box of Vesta dehydrated curry!

    Hi all,

I've been lurking for a couple of weeks! I actually started actively Xmas shopping the day before I found the thread and it makes me feel better that I'm not the only one who starts so early. (Although the fact I have an excel spreadsheet with all my gifts and ideas in is what singles me out in reality! lol)

Anyway, I am making a beer/pub hamper for an awkward relative on my OH's side. I got a selection of the £1 beers from Asda last weekend and I'm going to buy some pub bits like pork scratchings, peanuts, etc. To go with it. You could adapt it to most men really, ale/lager/etc. Or you could buy specific beers of the world e.g fosters (australia) bud (us), an indian one, a french one, etc. (my knowledge of beers is limited!)

    HTH someone x
  • beccye.....don't know if you have a home bargins near you but ours had a 'beer puzzle' where you put the 6pk in the wooden puzzle and they have to solve it to take it out. only £2.99 might make a fab side 'pub quiz' gift.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

I bought one last year but thought I'd put Dr Pepper cans in it as DH loves these. Silly mistake....they're a different size, so it didn't fit! Tip-Try it out BEFORE 10pm on Christmas eve!
