Gah just as I get organised and know where my money is going each week I had to just shell out £45 at the vets for one of my boys who had a bit of a runny bum, we thought it was getting better but it got worse again through the night and just got back with a load of antiboitics for him. We usually have an emergency fund but it was empty as the car also broke down.
So at the moment hoping whatever it was isn't catching and spending a fortune on chicken breasts under vets orders (and of course I can't give just one cat fresh chicken). It justs means I postpone my shopping for a week or 20 -
Well I have to say I am totally Christmas obsessed now!!! I'm halfway through my first sock monkey and have made 4 handbag charms (got the clasps and Beads from Ebay for about £10 and have enough to make about 6).
Argos was doing talking Timmy Time toys for £9.99 each, or 2 for £15 so I got my nephew them, gave him one the other day and kept one for Christmas.
Bought a hand painted Xmas Card from a craft market the other day for 65p (I always buy my aunt a special card) and been saving bits for my hampers.
The only thing thats bugging me is that I can't find these hat boxes a poster found in Tescos for £4 or so....grr - they'd be perfect! Don't have them in the Cambridge area it seems though0 -
Can't remember who posted on this thread a whils back about the £land pure range being Botanics but thanks :T i grabbed a load from my local store for my hampers.
Did i dream it or did someone also say £land had some No7 products that had labels stuck over them too? If so what are labelled as in poundland?

Just whipped this link from a poster on the Avon board http://www.flowerhour.co.uk/Sale-Clearance-items_B2239P.aspx - nice cake boxes on clearance. P&P is a bit pricey but lots of other bits like polywrap and tissue paper on there could make it worthwhile.
In case anyone couldn't find hat boxes...Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Hello again :hello: If I recall correctly from when I last popped my nose into this thread there's lots of good money saving ideas here. If I can put in my penneth worth, I've realised having lots of boys and men in my life is that they're suckers for a good gadget - something to tinker that might perhaps even do something interesting and beneficial - you never know your luck! There are some very inexpensive gadgets around and you can get lots of interesting things for beneath £20 that will keep them happy.
There's a few men's and boys inexpensive gadgets here gadget gifts for men for example.0 -

Ah hope he gets better soon!
He's loving the chicken and rice diet and twice daily treat of cheese spread (he doesn't know it has an antibiotic in it) and I just hope he doesn't suffer too badly when he goes back to the normal stuff. Other than that he is doing well. It's actually a testement to how much MSE has helped us- 6 months ago we would have been stumped and it would have made a big impact and most likely we couldn't have afforded either fixing the car or the cat. Now it was just a case of oh well can't get xmas stuff.
Back on topic I'm on the hunt for transformer/robot related stuff for my nephew as the Simpsons was just so 6 months. I can't keep up with him!0
