Got a few more bits from ebay for car gift sets for dad and BIL, tyre gauge key ring and chamois leathers. Also got some for OH's stocking. My best mate/cousin has agreed to do stockings for each other instead of pressies as I really wanted a stocking and my OH is useless lol.
No idea how she's going to afford it though, her car's just died and she's planning to buy a brand new one to replace it , even though she's already got over 10k in credit card debt! No one in our family buys new cars so I can't get my head round this, she has a point that her second hand one costs her money to fix but would have advised - instead of spending £400 on a 10 year old car that'll keep breaking or £10k on a new one that'll devalue the second she drives it out of the showroom - spend a few grand on a car that's only a few years old. I guess she wants a new one because you can pay monthly and it seems manageable but I just couldn't justify that kind of expense.... especially when she moans that she can't afford to do her son packed lunches which he wants as they get free school meals
Sorry, totally off topic but needed a rant!
Eh?????They do monthly/finance payments on cars that are a few years old! I've paid for all of mine on monthly payments, both from independent dealers and main agents and my cars have been about 3 years plus old (the ones that are just out of warranty). So methinks she just wants a 'new toy'...?

While searching for stocking fillers online I came upon Hawkins Bazaar, have just spent £35!
But, in my defence, I bought
- 8 more pressies for OH stocking (pretty much completed now, unless I spot something amazing)
- 5 pressies each for DS 1&2 stockings
- 5 pressies for best mate's stocking
- Bead/string/cube puzzle for BIL's present, half price, his now done!
- Pig toy for youngest sister, only PJs left to buy for her now, thinking Primark.
All in all, a good day's shopping!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Also they have these wooden baskets, not sure how big they are though but if big enough would be good for hampers.

chaosweddings wrote: »I can beat that one: the cousin of a good friend (who is petite and a size 6-8) got terrible backache the day her and her family were supposed to be going on holiday. She went to the airport but was in such agony that she decided not to fly. A friend took her to the hospital, where the doctors tried to find the source of the problem. Several hours later they pronounced her pregnant and due to have the baby within the next few days! The girl was shocked beyond belief as she had no idea whatsoever, and had even kept having her periods etc., and the only sign had been her backache which was due to the fact that the baby was tucked up inside her and sitting on her spine, which was what caused the ache. She had the baby when her whole family were still on holiday. Can you imagine the looks on their faces when they got back?!
Ho everyone.
I find these stories hilarious as i found out i was pregnant when i was rushed into hospital after being pushed off a bus by school kids while it was moving, dont remember going to hospital just remember the nurse saying to me when i woke up mother and baby are doing fine and i said who ! i went into labour right there and then !
didnt put on hardly any weight and he was up under my ribs the whole time !
back to xmas, i have bought 2 x wwe duvet sets for the 2 wwe hampers , wwe figures and 2 x wwe t-shirts.
anyone know where to get antique style perfume bottles ? for my mum she has about 30 but hasnt bought any for a little while
:rotfl:
No! I think that's what happened to my friend's cousin: she was tiny - it wasn't like there was exactly a lot of room in her tummy for a baby to get lost! It's scary...God fobid that ever happen to me!:eek::eek:Please call me 'Pickle'
