  • Ultimate Skin in Leeds is supposed to be amazing, I was going to travel there from Middlesbrough for my next one because I've heard so many good things about it. Also Physical Poetry in Leeds has a lot of good recommendations too.

  • fedupandskint - the jar is from Tesco, it's a big round one as opposed to the tall thin types, but I'm thinking if I get those little Haribo bags then the packaging will take up some space? And some chocolate limes as he loves them :D Then maybe a few other pieces to fill it.

I went to the beach today and picked up loads of nice round pebbles so I can make some pumpkin magnets :D Boyfriend rolled his eyes and said 'not more crap that's just going to get stuck in a cupboard and never made into anything' haha

Got some black and white stripy socks the other day from Primark, pack of 5 for £2 with two plain pairs, some brown and pink, brown and white, and black and white in. Perfect for making a Newcastle sock monkey for OHs present :)

  • welcome to all newbies!!!

i have been shopping today and bought some dvds for my movie hampers as there is a big sale on them in sainsburys!

for my niece who will be 15 at xmas i got legally blonde 1 and 2 boxset £4, monster in law £2 and honey £3

my nephew 12 has balls of fury £2 and school of rock £4 (to go with the superheroes boxset including electra, fantastic 4 and daredevil £4)

my brother 10 has school of rock £4 and the same superheroes boxset £4

only had one of the balls of fury so still need to get another for my brother. i had budgeted £10 each for the dvds but niece is £1 under, i will add this to brothers £2 he has left other, leaving me £3 for his final dvd

also picked up a little doll (bout 6") which comes with a pony reduced to £1.49. to be honest theyre a rip off of my little ponies, but great for bulking out dd's stocking, as ds has a couple more bits then her atm.

but on a negative note i went to have a snoop in my dads room for his boxing scrapbook to 'borrow' while he's on holiday only to find he has it locked up in a safe. so im going to have to think of a way of gaining entry to the bloody thing or come up with an excuse to get in there!

i need an idea here please im going to do my stepdad a bonsai growing kit and have all the stuff, but what can i present it in? i dont think it will go in a normal wicker basket as i would like something associated to bonsai! i do have the pots they stand in and one is quite large, but the two smaller ones fit inside it and i cant get the rest of the stuff in there! any clues?
  • Hi folks,

Just wanted to say Hi! Been lurking on this thread for months now. Just wanted to share an idea as some of you are now talking about making your Christmas Cakes.

Last year I made Mini Christmas Cakes in Ramekin dishes. Covered them in marzipan and iced them all and then decorated them with a cut out iced shapes which varied i.e. Holly leaves, stars, snowmen, xmas tree, baubles, stockings etc. Then popped them individually in these

They went down a treat. Tied a big red ribbon on some and on others just stuck a bow on top of the box. Sorry, didn't take pic but were especially welcomed by elderly relatives who can't eat a whole cake or have fussy family members. A great present for individuals and teachers too.

Oooh, another thing. I ran out of apricot jam to stick the marzipan on the cakes with and used ginger preserve. Bought it from Asda. Really gave the cakes a tangy taste.
