Their email to me stated that it had to be back by the 15th. It wont be on the paperwork, it's just they've made this arrangement with some people who have contacted them.
ah ok, but if it's not on the paperwork you receive, and they haven't emailed you so it's not in writing, then it's not going to be a binding deadline for some people as we have no knowledge of a cut off date.0 -
Just checked their website and the membership pages are not available. I wonder if they are changing the statement about treating new and existing customers the same?
I have an issue 5 and contacted them by 'phone yesterday about the discrepancies in the terms for issue 6 and not allowing existing 5 accounts to be transferred. I was not offered a compromise by them sending out an application for 6 so I'm afraid a considerable amount from 5 will be leaving CBS for elsewhere very soon. Also a Poppy Bond will be doing the same when it matures.
Because of their management's totally illogical and silly rule then they've lost a long time customer and my money!0 -
I rang yesterday too and was not offered an application form to be sent.oldagetraveller wrote: »I have an issue 5 and contacted them by 'phone yesterday about the discrepancies in the terms for issue 6 and not allowing existing 5 accounts to be transferred. So I emailed them through their website and through normal email sent High Priority. CSC@coventrybuildingsociety.co.uk
That is how I got them to send me a form.0 -

Given that your Issue 5 is currently earning 6.25% fixed, why would you want to transfer it to Issue 6?

I emailed Coventry yesterday and received a reply today saying they are sending me an issue 6 pack to be returned by 15th
I have an esaver issue 1 account with them0 -
As one who already had a previous esaver account with CBS, I am impressed as to how quickly they have set up my esaver(6) account online. Interesting to note that they will accept BACS transfers. I have never arranged a BACS transfer. Does anyone know how to set this up with Smile, and can it be an on-going arrangement i.e. like a DD so you can transfer at irregular intervals?0

Hi
Just set up a transfer of money by clicking the 'Money Transfer' icon.
First time I set one up I do a small test transfer to check that I haven't screwed up anything.
You will need the sort code & account number of the CBS account obviously.
Once set up, the details are remembered and you can give the transfer details your own description.
When the card reader system is activated on your accounts, you will need the reader to set this up and I am not sure about Faster Payments kicking in yet."It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"

Just received my application form in today's post & have just completed it to post back to them.
I also included a note to say that I hope that they will review & rescind their ridiculous condition of not being allowed to close & transfer from a previous version to a newer version of the account.
Meanwhile, in protest, I have already withdrawn the bulk of the existing balance to open a new Newcastle BS 5 year 5% ( i.e 90 day notice !) 'Bond'.
Still wanted to have the new 50Plus eSave version 6 account though for any possible new deposits !
Just to let fellow members know that I can see on-line that my v3 account was transferred to a v6 account yesterday.
Application form ( using their first class post paid envelope ) was posted the day before, i.e Wed.0 -
Mines set up and running.
Very quick service after the kick-up.0 -
Oh me of little faith. They obviously still have the pdf form they had on their website. You'd think they could have emailed me that. Then again, they might receive it back in time for me to qualify for this account.
Cynic - me?
The application form arrived this morning.
Now filled in and sent back recorded delivery.0
