hi - i work at cbs and there is going to be 2 new accounts this weekend and we have been told that they are market leading rates .
However they are only for the over 50's an internet account - has instant access 3.25% .
a bond also at the same rate .
will warn you though every time we have had the internet account its not out very long as its very popular, once youve opened it you can have it for as long as you want .
thanks

I do not mean this in a bad way, but I do not see many over 50s opening an internet account.
My Gran cant turn the computer on, let alone surf the net!0 -
LOL - Ray, hope you have a very big tinfoil hat...
Courtney - site mentions 'you can only ever open one 50+ account', does this mean I can't roll my existing one (issue 2) into the new one (eg is it a 'brand new customers only' account). Was going to email CBS, but as you're here...0 -
Have been waiting over a week for IF to complete the opening of my a/c with them, so I'm sorely tempted by this one - as far as I can see it's the best instant access rate at the moment - does anyone know of any better?
Thanks and regards0 -
Nothing better at the moment - it's the best instant access account if you are over 50 and can use a computer and you're not a Gran.steveksullivan wrote: »Have been waiting over a week for IF to complete the opening of my a/c with them, so I'm sorely tempted by this one - as far as I can see it's the best instant access rate at the moment - does anyone know of any better?

T&C say if you already have an existing esaver/6.25, you cant open this new one - shame
what is IF rate ?0 -
I'd be interested how the Coventry can get away with this under new age discrimination laws. Can you imagine the uproar if they advertised an under 50s account? Anyway only another 10 years to go before I can apply.0

Oh well found the answer, it seems the laws only cover age discrimination in the workplace.0
