This is going to be quickest resolution to this problem. Far easier than upsetting the landlord, writing legal letters, giving fatty an excuse to do something spiteful on his last day etc etc.

Despite internet access being included in the rent, if it was me and I relied on it so heavily (especially if lack of connection was costing me money) then I'd be considering installing a completely separate phone line altogether.

LL is with me 100%. won't be upset. Was just a thought... It feels so awfull to be put in a position where some **s is controll of your day to day life, a person has no right to do that and make someone else feel like that.

This sort of thing has never been an issue in any other shared accomodation I've lived in, it has always been a great experience with good long term friendships formed. I've just had the misfortune of running into somone who doesn't understand some of the basics to social interaction...

sorry, but if you came into my room when i wasnt in i would be very angry, and i am afraid it wouldnt just be your internet connection i unplugged lol

He had been given the option of not making it necessary for anyone to enter his room i.e. have the connection moved outside, and he refused that option. So in my mind he did so with the understanding that people will enter his room when it is neccessary to fix something that everyone relies upon.

He refused to allow the router to be outside his room, we explained that we may need to enter his rroom in that case. If he has issue with ppl entering his room then he should have jumped at the chance of moving it out. By not moving it out didn't he implicitly accept that others will need to fix problems themselves.

Hey, it wasn't like I was in there to sniff his socks or drink his cola ;) just wanted to get something working which belonged to us all.

What I think is that while it's sad that this guy is acting childish, it's a real shame you appear to have taken that as an invite to be the same.

I also think that your LL perhaps ought to move the connection point for this communal resource into a cupboard in a communal area - you really shouldn't be going into this guy's room to fix your internet in the first place which was your bad, but if the LL had thought things through then you wouldn't have "had" to.

This recent actions have been a culmination of numerous events, events which have lead to his eviction due to the inconsidertate behaviour he's shown against me and also events in which he took controll on the internet (said I was downloading too much) and then use access to it a barganing tool to get what else he wanted in the house.

The internet controll issue lead to the LL upgrading the package at cost to as all so that he would give up controll of it. The LL upgraded the packed under condition that this guy would not controll of it anymore.

The alternative for me right now would be for me to 'suck it in' and wait for him to leave.

If I felt that I was at fault then I'd do so, as the case is that he's the one being an !!! then how can any self repecting individual allow anyone to get away with that? I've never in my life given in to a bully and I'm not about to start now, play fire with fire and all that, hey better this way, maakes for a good storry to tell you mates down the pub too ;)

Life is too short to let ppl like this feel like they are getting away with something which is not right..

    Does that sound wrong? :)

PS: Sorry, I feel I've disgraced myself with that comment. It was unworthy of me as a gentleman about town. :)

Hey it's Friday, such talk can be overlooked :rotfl:

It sounds like there are other flatmates in this shared house. Have they been cut off too?

If not can you not piggy back onto their connection?

    Given that:
he's the spitful type and may pull a silly on his way out..
If I were to ask him 'outside' he'd squish me to a pulp.. he's a biiiiig guy

Then that decision (and any entailing aggravation) is entirely yours.

I tried that and then he blocked my IP adsress on that connection, just allows the IP address of the housemate the conenction belongs to. He's given them static IP addressses ...
