October , NovemberJetlag doesn't seem to affect everyone so you may be lucky. When travelling, as soon as I sit down on the plane I set my watch to the destination time and start adjusting myself: 1am at the destination? Then I'm off to sleep! 8am at the destination? Then I'll try and stay awake (bar the odd snooze maybe). This isn't always practical (airline staff serving dinner at 3am destination time for example!) but generally I'd say I don't suffer very badly from jetlag.
Travelling is tiring anyway, but given Las Vegas's 'culture' it really doesn't matter if you crash out and decide to get up later for something to eat/look around, things tend to stay open pretty late!0 -
i do suffer from Jetlag , but travelling east ( Back home ) is always where it gets me worse.
on arrival in Vegas try to stay up until around 7pm -8pm local time . get some food ( a buffet is best bet) at about 5pm .
My wife can seem to go to sleep when get there for a 3 or 4 hours get up , eat then go straight back to sleep . i however cannot do this , so i generally leave the room and go exploring on arrival .
Don't be temped to anything 1st night , as your body will begin to fall asleep sitting up after 9pm local time .
That is one hell of a journey from Scotland to Gatwick . have you considered travelling a day early to Gatwick . you can then twilight check in for your flight ( i assume you are flying with Virgin) , stay in the Airport Travelodge for a very reasonable prices ( parking included ) . next morning it is just a case of clearing security @ the airport and getting on the flight .
it's not to late and using Holiday extras you can get good prices using their "undercover" hotel thing . it is very very easy to work out which hotel you are booking .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Hello
From recent experience , which is the cheapest ATM for cash withdrawels from hotels on the strip . I plan to use my nationwide flex account . I read a recent post here about the casino royale for $1 fee (dont know how recent his visit was) instead of the usual $4.99 from other hotels
As said Guys recent personal experiences please
thanks in advance0 -

October , NovemberIt depends what you are looking for. If you are just looking for somewhere basic with no frills then it's fine, similar to a Spanish hotel room.
We have stayed there several times and the room has always been clean and comfortable. Make sure you get a deluxe room as they have been refurbished in the last couple of years. Whatever you do, don't get a Capri room as they are old an in a separate building at the back of the hotel.
The location is one of the best in Vegas as it is bang in the centre of the strip and across the road from Caesars.
Don't bother with the IP buffet as the selection is very small and the quality isn't good. Plenty of decent places to eat nearby.
However if you like a bit of luxury then the IP isn't for you. You can get more comfortable hotels for not much more provided you book direct with the hotel.
I am trying Bally's for the first time in a few weeks.
To compare rates at Harrah's properties go to www . harrahs.com , click on Hot Deals, select Las Vegas and go down to the calendar of rates where it says something like "Flexible with your dates?"
When are you thinking of going?
What you have said about the IP is exactly what i've been hearing. And a girl at work who, lets face it appreciates the finer things in life, stayed there on her 3rd visit and couldn't fault it (location, price).
We are going in November and this will be my first time in Vegas. I'll also look for discount codes.
We've been quoted 7 nights at the IP with return direct flights at £1,983 for the 4 of us :j0 -

Whatever you do, don't think "It's 10pm at home" and have a sleep as soon as you get there. You will wake at 2 or 3am, unable to get back to sleep and it will take you days to get over the jetlag.
As has been said, set your watch for Vegas time as soon as you get on the plane. Try to keep going until 8-9pm as you will still wake very early even doing that.
We also travel from the north of Scotland so know how tiring the journey is. We have 2 connections, one in London and one in the US and have been up for 29 hours before crashing.
We have flown direct when bmi were doing it and I actually found it much harder to keep going if we arrived early afternoon than it is if we don't arrive till early evening.0 -

As I said in an earlier post, Casino Royale is the cheapest at $1 per transaction and next cheapest was CVS at $2. My last visit was in May.0 -

You need to price the flights and hotel separately before you know if it's a good deal, but it does sound reasonable. Is it 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children?
The IP is $254 total for a week from 13 November, £172 inc tax at 12%. If it's 2 children you can get a room with 2 queen beds, but there will be an additional person charge which will probably make it cheaper having 2 rooms.0 -

Just make sure you take out the maximum allowed by you bank to make the most value from it. It's currently the equivalent of £300 with the Nationwide.0
