Luci - he will kill you!!

We could meet before the gig for a few drinks?

BTW - still not booked - NY offer not available just now & Expedia site playing up too.

Yes before the gig would be good. I am hoping to have a nap in the afternoon to try and get over the jetlag then the plan is to take the monorail to the MGM and walk over from there.

Good luck with getting the flights sorted. I would be panicking by now if it were me, but you still have 9-10 weeks to get it sorted.

Well I booked the tickets totally off the cuff - not like me at all.

So worse case scenario I will not go - I would rather waste £120 on tickets rather than pay OTT on flights/accom & on top of that spending money - easy taking the whole thing to over £2K.

Especially when Expedia keep upping their prices on me whilst I'm on their site - that's low IMO.

So the deal has to be right as we were suppoed to be going to Mexico for 2 weeks Oct & decided to give it a miss because of the long flight. Like I said we're not very good flyers at all - now we're looking at NY/Vegas or Vegas which works out best for us.

But Stoneman summed it up the other day about Euro trips - they're just not the same + once you've been to Mexico/Vegas or US in general you realise that.

Where are you staying in September & if you don't mind me asking what deals did you take advantage of?

Staying at Bally's for 5 nights on one of their Hot Deals booked on their site, Paris for 6 night booked on www.harrahs.com/lci and 3 nights at the Carriage House in a one bedroomed suite. That's a bit dearer, but internet access is included and they have laundry facilities which was the decider.

Luci - have you cancelled the part of the Paris reservation that overlaps with Bally's? I was thinking about it and since that's now set to be a big weekend in Vegas, if you're booked in the south tower not sure if it will make an upgrade to the north tower (nicer rooms, though fewer good views) less likely? We do like Bally's but have always stayed in the north tower since our first time there.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

As far as I know, there's no such thing as a horseback riding tour of the Grand Canyon - there are mule rides, but you have to book months and months in advance (last I checked it was 6-9 months)...spaces are very limited and I would therefore doubt that there were discounts.

There is horseback riding near the GC from Apache Stables

and you MUST try the croque macaroni cheese, to die for.

I totally agree - we had it at lunch once and it was so fantastic...either it didn't used to be on the dinner menu or I didn't notice it before now (maybe since it's under 'vegetables' :)) because I would have ordered it at dinner I'm sure...made a special trip one lunchtime because I'd heard the rave reviews about the mac and cheese. :)

The crab cakes are also really good...as are the escargots if you like them.

I always get the steak roquefort and frites at dinner...at lunch the bacon cheeseburger (with Gruyere) was one of the best burgers I have ever had.

Yes I amended my reservations on Wednesday night and I feel a lot more settled now that's done.

Having never stayed at Bally's I can't decide if I want to stay in the South Tower for the views or the North Tower for the renovated rooms. Seeing as I'm not too bothered I was just going to wait and see what's available at check in.

How much is the upgrade to the North Tower? If I don't get it FOC I may decide to pay for it at check in.

I also wondered what rooms would be left seeing as we should be checking in around 7-7.30pm.

    Hi guys,

    So near yet so far!!:rotfl:

I'm just about to book this trip - 7nyts at the Venetian.

Flights are with US Airways booked via Expedia as the price is alot better.

Is it just a traditional free for all when it comes to checking in & getting a good seat then or can I book seats in advance? Flight out is at 10.15am so it's not a problem but the flight back from Vegas is 7am which will be a sore one.

    Ta
