SeptemberHow far is the walk from the Flamingo to Ellis Island -I know it isn't far but not sure how close. Directions for the directionally challenged would be good too
It should take approx 15 mins to walk.
Come out the fron of Flamingo, turn left, at the corner of Bill's turn left and keep walking for 10-15 mins. The next street parallel with the strip is Koval Lane.
When you get to Koval, cross at the lights, turn right and it's a couple of hundred yards along. You will see the green sign long before you get there.0 -
SeptemberNo more than about $49 dollars each
Hmmm, I was going to suggest the Prix Fixe menu at Switch, but I think that is $59. Wasuzu, the Chinese, might fit the bill, but I'm not sure if they will do Prix Fixe on Xmas Day.
What about the Grand Lux Cafe at the Venetian? Reasonable priced food that gets good reviews. We had steaks there and they weren't great, but most people rave about the food.
It's open 24 hours and I don't know if they take reservations, but it might be worth checking with them.0 -
December ( including Xmas and New Year )I was also going to suggest the GLC at Venetian. They give out beepers so it beeps when your table is ready and you can gamble while youre waiting.
Can eat very well there for $49 each. Order the takeaway cookies when you order your main course as they cook them fresh for you and take about 30 mins.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

October , NovemberDuchy, don't get the Ham and Eggs unless you're REALLY hungry. It's quite a large portion. We've decided we'll split it next time we're wanting ham for breakfast.0

SeptemberYes OH had the Country Ham and eggs and it was like a massive gammon steak, but he did manage to eat it.
They do a graveyard special of NY steak and eggs for $2.99 between 11pm and 6am, but you can get it at other times for $4.99 and it's pretty good.0 -

There's actually a short-cut - though we haven't taken it from Flamingo, we did take it on our way back once...it's not a massive savings in distance, but as you're coming back toward the strip on Flamingo if you look to your right as you're walking along, you'll see you can walk straight through to the Flamingo instead of going up to the strip and turning right and walking back down.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
No more than about $49 dollars each
difficult budget
would suggest grand lux cafe too
switch i thought was expensive for what you got but ok,
my problem with the las vegas restaurants like switch is not matter how nice it is, at some point you need to go for a pee..at that point you realise your in a casino not a nice restaurant...
however encore I felt out of all the casinos had the gambling much less in your face...0 -

That sounds like a plan before my early flight home (don't usually go for 7am sillyiness but it was an award ticket so for free I would) or I might just go to Bills for the graveyard that morning insteadI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

One of the best places we ate was at The Cheesecake Factory in the Forum Shops Mall (next to Caesars Palace) - the variety of food here is excellent - the menu goes on and on. Best dish I had was the Chicken Madeira - top quality grub. Cheesecakes in this place are the best of the best.
There are some great food joints in the Food Court in the Fashion Show Mall (next to Treasure Island). There is also a Cinnabon shop in this mall - cant go wrong.
Denny's - great for breakfast but expect heavy queues at about 10am
Outback - not much variety, dont bother
PF Changs - Top quality Chinese Food
NYNY - Good places to eat here
Jack in the Box & Taco Bell - not on the strip but well worth a trip
Got back from a 2 week stay on Sunday morning and am so happy I was there over Thanksgiving and Black Friday - picked up a HD Camcorder that is priced at approx. £1000 in UK for $900 and a Tom Tom Go 730 for $174.99 (£199.99 in UK).
We stayed at MGM Grand, TI and MGM Signature. TI was very good but MGM Signature is like home.
If I had to pick the best of the 3 for comfort and accessibility, id go with TI (The MGMS is by far the best looking room however, the mission to the strip is exactly that - A MISSION!!)
Expect static shocks. Seriously.
Also it is impossible to walk up and down the strip without being offered porno cards from a mexican.
Also DO NOT buy VIP passes to clubs from the people on the strip. You will turn up thinking you'll bypass the suckers standing in line but will soon realise, you will join them about 2 mins later.0
