PS - I'm positive Glasgow flights are Jun/Jul only.
Thanks for your advice - its appreciated.
Yep - the Glasgow "stop off" is usually June/July only - thats when I fly - so I have experienced it before.
Ta!

JuneThere still is the odd Mytravel bargain about Steff. There were flights from Manchester to Vegas around the £250 mark a few weeks ago.
Also, they do occasionally check up on the food! We've always got a free meal but last time when they were serving the food they told us that as we hadn't ordered any food we wouldn't be getting fed unless we paid then on the plane. We said fine, but don't know if they forgot or couldn't be bothered to collect the cash but either way we got them for free.
Wow - £250 - really!! Will keep an eye out then (though I doubt prime Jun/Jul slots will be included in those prices - but you never know!).
Thanks for advice. I have never paid for the meal and they never USED to check - so I will also bear that in mind - thanks wydw!

October , NovemberUSAirways are massivly reducing their flights to vegas and will no longer fly direct from chicago  or detroit (amongst others) which I guess will reduce the number of indiect flights from the UK, chicago was always a cheapo(sometimes painful) option.

Got to hope that other dont follow suit and that the direct flight competition hots up some more.0 -
Hi,
Is it worth buying the 2009 voucher booklet? If so, do you have a link?
Is there a similar booklet for reduced entry fee's into clubs?
Last one, for people who have been recently, what are the best shows to watch out there? I was hoping to watch a Magic show and Aacrobatics. I heard Cris Angel has a show out there - any good?0 -
hey
we are staying at the Mirage next June for 7 nights but had a question around eating on a budget. Any recommendations where we could go for breakfast in the mornings? I'm not concerned about evenings as we will be trying out different places but for something quick and cheap..what is avaiklable?
Thanks
Cravings Buffet @ Mirage is a good bet. they have manned cooking stations too .
if you want a really great breakfast then one of our Favourite's is also in Mirage . Carnegie's is very fun , great food and will easy keep you going till dinner .
If you want half price Showtickets for that day . go to the booth outside The Peppermill , park in the car park and have a great breakfast afterBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

Which 2009 voucher book do you mean, the American Casino Guide? You can check which coupons are in it on their website then decide if it would be worth it for you. I had one this year, but only used one coupon.
If I was going to see a magic show I would choose Lance Burton based on what I've read. I would avoid Criss Angel as he constantly gets terrible reviews and I haven't seen a good one yet.
For acrobatics choose a Cirque show. We really liked Love which is based on Beatles music. O was also very good, but Cirque really isn't my thing.0 -
October , NovemberI've read through a lot of this thread.
I'm looking to go to Las Vegas for my 21st birthday.
I've never been outside of Europe before but am a frequent flyer and fly within the UK and Europe about 12 times a year. Mainly short flights to London to see bands etc but also to Athens, Greece where my boyfriend of 6 years is at uni.
I've been looking at flights etc and to be honest it is looking pricewise waaaaaay out of my league!!! I don't really care much about the hotel I'll be staying in. Room Only in a 2+ star hotel would do! I plan on being out most of the time and seeing the sights! The room will probably only be used for sleeping!
It's flights I'm mainly concerned about. I live in Glasgow. But I can get to Manchester Airport, London Stansted and London Heathrow with relative ease and cheapness. (Under £15 each way). I'd prefer a maximum of about 1 stopover.
I found flights on kayak.co.uk from London to Vegas for £403 per person. Is this the best I'll find and can anyone recommend a budget hotel near the Strip?
Would it be cheaper for a package? Budget (for flight and hotel) is about £1,400.
Thanks!
EDIT: My birthday is September 29th.0 -

i doubt you will do much better , what with the new air tax as well . yes some people have had £250 flights with My travel , but you have to leave that till the last minute and there is no guarantee they will not sell out or go that low if you do . you have to choose the dates you want try this on very careful as well . anything after mid may till mid Sept don't waste your time trying . also easter , popular boxing matches , to contend with as well .
if i was going i would be pretty happy with a £400 ish fare . leaves £1000 for hotels over a package . at current exchange rates that is $1600 for hotels. staying for 7 days that is going to get you near the top of tree in terms of luxury .
there are plenty of good cheap hotels off strip (hell the Stratosphere has had $22 a night offers recently not luxury or great location by any means , but if all you want is a room ) . , but you might find a deal at somewhere like Imperial palace , Excalibur , or even Ballys that is within budget . best bet is to ask us where you have found a good price for and ask for opinions , please check the links in post 1 for hotel dealsBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
October , NovemberFor anyone out there during thanksgiving (End of this month!)

Having been in Vegas on Black Friday before and having made an effort to go to one story (Fry's) I can say with absolute certainty that I would never try it again. It was mayhem. My husband said he thought it looked like the store was being looted.Seriously, crazy. I've been shopping on that Friday many times in the US, and it's madness, but Vegas seemed to be so far above and beyond what I've ever experienced...it was pretty unbelievable.
But yeah, there will be LOTS of bargains to be had. Anyone who is there should get the paper on Thanksgiving Day and get the ads out and scour them...many stores will have crazy early-bird specials only good for 2-3 hours (usually 6-8 or 7-9). I did all my Christmas shopping by 11am one year.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
