Thanks Luci was funny I was looking at there website on my dinner today

Thanks Dan_S thought they probs limited you to 2000 we will defo be doing that anyway cos we got loads of points so it would be daft to waste them we used quite a few last year but still got plenty left. Had a quick look earlier and with the 2000 points the flight for the week before we want was about £460 if I remember right which wasnt to bad I suppose.

    Thanks again guys :)

Thomas Cook might be your other option. They have decent seat pitch. Their baggage allowance used to let them down, but now that all carriers have change to one bag instead of two that isn't a concern.

Just a quick note to say that if you book Virgin before 25th Nov, you'll get the existing allowance (2 bags x 23kg).... For BA, anyone booked before 7th October still gets the 2 bag allowance

We were really lucky. When BA had their sale at the beginning of July they had dates up until about June next year.

The prices were £359 from LHR and we apid £470 with the ABZ-LHR connection which I'm more than happy with.

Thanks Luci - you were lucky!
I have only ever flown with My Travel and their baggage allowance was 15kg!! for a 14 night trip to Vegas this was completely impossible (for me anyway!) I did a quick look at Thomas Cook yesterday and the price was £998 for my dates BEFORE paying for baggage and meals.
I have to admit that I didnt check out their luggage allowance - I just presumed it would still be 15kg - which is miserly!
I would be very tempted to take that direct BA flight out of Heathrow if the price was right - I will keep checking!
My OH is leaning toward an indirect from MAN either with AA, NWA, Delta etc - can anyone recommend any of these airlines or advise which to avoid? ( I know this has been asked before - but more up to date views would be appreciated).
    Thanks for replying.

I have read good and bad about all those airlines. We have flown with AA a couple of times and found them to be very good. The cabin service was excellent as they were constantly round with drinks.

You have to pay for alcohol with the US carriers, but that isn't a concern for us as we have mostly soft drinks while flying.

The best price we could get for an indirect flight last time was £450pp so the £470 direct with BA is a steal for us. The Aberdeen connection always adds on around £100pp.

Hi all, I am hoping someone can help me please. I am looking to go to Vegas 30 September 2010. I am only looking at direct flights from anywhere in England. I know I can starting looking at prices in the next few days but is it better to wait and if so when is it best to book. Many thanks in advance.

    Hi yorkie,
I second Kennys opinon - DEFINATELY better to book in advance (at least in my experience) I have never seen flights get cheaper closer to the time (short of the old My Travel very last second deals) but it you know when you want to go then as soon as a decent price come out BOOK IT!!

I am flying June/July 2010 and I would hope to have my flight booked in next two weeks to a month.

Last year the best prices came out in November (it looks like I missed the best BA prices in their July 09 sale - as per Luci) for September 10 travel they may come out at the same time - I am not sure as I have never been to Vegas in September BUT I am sure there are LOADS of people on here who have?!
Good Luck - AND if you see any good sales LET ME KNOW! Ta!

    Hi,
Anyone on here flown on the new Thomas Cook planes from Manchester to Vegas (either via Glasgow or not?) I have checked their prices for my dates next year and they are currently coming out at £968 for two.

They DONT include any checked luggage in the fare - you have to pay £70 for one case each way (20kg each) and £17.50 for meals.

QUESTION: Has anyone who has flown with them NOT paid for meal and luggage and still got it? I know NEVER to pay for a meal as they dont check BUT I imagine they do with the luggage part OR am I wrong?

If anyone can advise then please let me know. Cheers!

ALSO - I seem to recall that people on here thought the TC planes were greatly superior to the old My Travel planes - can anyone tell me if that is the case?

Thanks for your replys Kenny and Steff. Flights are available to book now with Virgin. The price is £1614.75 for 2 adults and 1 child. Is this a good price? Thanks again for your much appreciated help :D

Personally, I think that price is ridiculous. Me and my OH tend to go to Vegas in June/July and this is a notoriously expensive time with bog standard flight prices around £1,120 for two. I have never paid more than £800 - £900 after finding sale prices or good deals etc.

I havent flown in September myself but I think you should be able to do better than that! Although I am not sure how much airlines charge for kids..... sorry!
I think you shoudl be doing the same thing as me - checking daily for airline sales and relying on the good people on her to advise if they see any special deals during their routine searches!
