AugustThanks all for the Advice!
Think we will hold off and monitor the flights with one connection price.
I rather fancy the BA flight since it has decent flight times, But going to see about the others as well. Hoping BA/Virgin have a Sale in the new year like has been hinted at else where.
I'm not fussed about the heat. I've been to Vegas in June and July before so have an idea of what the heat is like. Plus nothing like chilling out in the pool on a hot day :cool:0 -
AugustIt'll be like July -I rather like it that hot but we heard a lot of people complaining.
Worst thing this year was the air quality as the winds blew the smoke in from the LA fires.
In more than ten visits to Vegas in the last few years I've probably hit the pool three times total LOL It's usually on the to do list just never gets done -too much else to do.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Last time I went in 07 was just the two of us, My friend started to complian about the heat as soon as we left the Airport, Even told the girl in the security deposit box place in Exclubur not to go outside as it was too warm. Though he man'd up towards the end of the week and started to love the heat.
I only went to the pool once my last trip, Just got caught up doing alot that never had time to go. Though the time before that I sent alot of time in the Pool when we Stayed at the Sahara in 05. Though this trip I want to spend a few more times chilling out beside the pool. It is a holiday after all, plus bounus of Vegas being 24hours is that you can spend all morning next to the pool yet still not miss out on much!0 -
SeptemberDefinitely try the $20 trick at PH. It worked for us the 3 or 4 times we have stayed there. I just asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available and tipped accordingly.
As for upgrading at Paris. We have stayed in a Red Room Luxury and a P Room. In our case the P room was much smaller than the Red Room, but we still really liked it. Also, I thought all the P rooms were at the end of the corridor as they are corner rooms?
The first couple of times I tried the $20 trick I handed over the $20 with my passport or credit card. That is not a tip, it's a bribe. Now I just ask nicely and get the tip out if there is an upgrade forthcoming.
The first time we stayed at Paris I wasn't bothered about an upgrade and didn't even ask so I didn't have a tip ready. The nice clerk upgraded us to a room that would have cost an extra $40/night so I had to scramble and get a tip out for him.0 -
SeptemberIt was 104F when we were there last month, but to me it didn't feel like it as it was such a dry heat. Bearing in mind that I really don't like the heat and prefer it to be in the low 20C's in Europe, I was surprised that the heat in Vegas didn't bother me.0

SeptemberHey All
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on a flight I found from Glasgow to Vegas next year. I've been looking for a few weeks for a decent price with BA, Continental, Us Airways, Virgin(+Connection) and KLM in Late August to Start September.
Found this flight this morning for the Date range 24th Aug - 3rd September with KLM (via there website) for £514.69 each (3 passengers).
Outward
Glasgow (6am) - Amsterdam (8:40am) (With KLM)
Amsterdam (10:20am) - Minneapolis (12:20pm) (With Northwest-Delta)
Minneapolis (2:30pm) - Las Vegas (3:48) (With Northwest-Delta)
Inward
Las Vegas (7:45am) - Atlanta (2:36pm) (With Northwest-Delta)
Atlanta (5:25pm) - Amsterdam (8:20am 4th Sep) (With Northwest-Delta)
Amsterdam (10am) - Glasgow (10:30am) (With KLM).
Its seems a lot of connections but price wise its cheaper than the others by a fair bit (BA £612.40, Continental £567.10, US Airways £665, Virgin(+BA) £605.70).
It would only leave 2hrs in Minneapolis to clear Customs and doesn't leave much room for delays etc.
Guess I'm looking for advice on if it seems like a good route/price.
Hi,
We booked our recent trip (Sep 16-23) via Expedia. We got flights/7 nights at Venetian for approx. £1300 for the both of us. I don't know what you have planned in terms off accomodation but it may be worth looking - they give a generous discount if booking flights & accom with them.
Flights were with US Airways - Gla - PHL - Vegas so only 1 change either way which went really smooth in both directions.
We booked it in July - approx 7 weeks before the trip.0 -

If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

October , NovemberHello. I just thought I'd check in. We're almost half way through our Vegas trip. Don't know where the time has gone. It goes without saying that we're having a good time.0

They are a reliable site - but what's the hotel? Normally vegas.com has a decent mark up...and many hotels have a price match policy - so if the hotel you're looking at does have a price-match policy, it may be better to book through them and put in a claim to match the price at vegas.com.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
