You would need to call the hotels or check their websites.

If you don't want anything pre-authorised and you don't want to charge anything to the room you can tell them at check in that you don't want any charging privileges. However you may have to pay for the stay in full at check in.

Actually even if you pay in full some still want a deposit too. Definitely one to check on an individual hotel basis.

If you've had a player card before and don't have it with you all the casinos will just use your passport for ID and issue you a new card with any points you've earned that haven't expired left on it.

most players clubs will take a photocard driving licence as ID too, but Harrah's won't - at least they have refused for me at least twice even when just wanting a new copy of my card. ..had to go to the room and get my passport.

Was surprised with TR 7 nights comp, but I had just moved from one status to another so may have something to do with it.

Yes you are right try to play in one group to maximise your points and harrahs is good because you have such a diverse choice.

But capitalize on whoever gives you free game play, (I have seen quite a few signs for hooters etc etc)
  • Looking in to 2010, is anyone thinking about staying at any of the City Center hotels? I've noticed Vdara has appeared on Expedia at not such a stupid price, and Aria's on there too now as well.

I've only been back from Vegas a week and I'm already thinking of my next trip (although we hadn't planned to go back until 2012!) so might take a look again in a few months for an April visit.

Most of Hooters freeplay is on promotional machines - like the ones at Casino Royale where you're unlikely to win anything. I'm sure it can be fun, but when we did it at CR (knowing what our chances were) we just couldn't seem to quite lose it all and just kept spinning and spinning and spinning until we were totally sick of it. :)

Also - Terry Fator discount has finally been extended beyond the end of this month. Book by 2nd October for dates to 30th October.

    • Cat. 1 ... $106.40 (reg. $141.90)
    • Cat. 2 ... $81.68 (reg. $108.90)
    • Cat. 3 ... $65.18 (reg. $86.90)
    • Cat. 4 ... $48.68 (reg. $64.90)
We just bought tickets (cat 2 - no Cat 1 seats left even at full price)...I'm very pleased as I'd been stalking this discount for ages and it just wasn't being extended.

I know the website has been posted here before, but just checked:

    http://www.destinationcoupons.com/Nevada/Las_Vegas/las-vegas-restaurants.asp

as it's our last night at home (staying at LHR tomorrow night to fly on Friday morning)...and they seem to have more vouchers than they used to...there's one for Planet Dailies at PH which we were planning on trying through tix4dinner as Luci had a good experience there - the voucher is 20% off lunch or dinner...so depending on the booking fee and value of mains ordered at 50% through tix4dinner, if the 20% voucher is good for the whole meal, it may be equal or better value depending on what's ordered. Obviously I haven't used it yet but if we do we'll report back on whether the 20% off is off the whole order.

    And there's one for Starbuck's at PH - $2 off $10.

Plus several others that I don't remember seeing before.

Yes I printed off some Earl of Sandwich coupons from Destination Coupons that give you 10% off. They do decent hot sandwiches.

Just been to the new Denny's that opened a week ago opposite Monte Carlo. Nice place. Also checked out the new Hard Rock Cafe down there. Looked at the menu, but it didn't have prices and I'm always suspicious of anything without a price.

I'm wondering how David got on moving to the MGM. I hope it was a painless as it was for us.

    Hi

We literally have just checked in - 6pm. We checked out the Venetian at midday after spending the morning by the pool and a small breakfast at Canyon Ranch Spa (hopefully this is correct name).

Had a busy day hence the late check in at MGM.

Pretty straight forward although the check in here is a mess - all separate Qs and we always pick the slowest one. They should just stick everyone in the one Q and call us of like the do in Venetian.

Anyway we're in a West Wing Room on the 8th floor - smaller than Venetian but it's lovely, recently remodelled and quite nice on the eye although there isn't a bath. They said we can move into a queen standard room but no need as we're only here for 2 nights.

There was a couple of guys in front of me looking to add 1 day to their MGM stay - were charged $139 so for $59 we won a watch - especially at such short notice.

David re text about eating tonight. What about the new Hard Rock Cafe? We probably won't try it as there are no prices on their menu and I like to have an idea before I commit.

The original "Sam's Town" sign from the Killers' 2006 tour is on the wall there just as you go up the stairs.
