AugustI don't really agree with Trets on this one......not entirely
July is always tricky because of school holidays but personally I'd hang fire until after the beginning of the year for lower fares especially as you don't seem fixated on direct flights. If you can go late August instead fares drop around the 25th -we got Delta from London for £335 and could have gone even lower with US Air this summer for those dates.
It is a risk waiting for a fare drop for peak season-sometimes it's better to just book the best fare at the time.....and NOT go back and see if they've dropped later !!I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Thanks for advice, late August is not possible for us but we can go early in July before schools here break up. I agree it is all a gamble, confused LOL!!!0 -

Does anyone have any experience of 3 in a room, is the 3rd bed always a pullout/ sofa type as I don't think any of us would be happy with that?
Or what is the type of room to go for? (or is 2 seperate rooms they way to go?)
When is the time to book the hotel - I now know from this thread to make a fall back booking but is about 2-3 months before going the time to look for better deals?
!
It'll be two double beds plus some hotels will add a rollaway.
When we do girlie weekends we've always found this fine for three as the beds are huge -obviously this may or may not work for you. The bigger problem I find is three women and only one bathroom LOL
Just keep watching the threads here for good hotel deals-with Vegas hurting sometimes there are some very good deals further out than two or three months.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

If you can move it to even the very last day of June to depart you might see better fares. Also don't forget flying Mon-Thur is always cheaper and as Friday and Saturday night hotel rates are twice the price of other nights if you're going for a going say weds to friday means you only pay for two weekend nights on a 9 night stay -helps if you aren't doing an exact week away.
EDIT I explained that really badly-sorry . Let me know if you need me to make it cleaerI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I know what you mean, 9 nights could incorporate 4 weekend nights instead of 2. Thanks for info on rooms/ beds I did wonder about sharing but wasn't sure about doing that for 7ish nights!! And yes one bathroom can be a nightmare LOL!
I can't take holidays at any month end with my job so that isn't an option but thanks very much for all the advice. Lots to think about...0 -
SeptemberJust back from 8 nights at the Four Seasons. must say that I was a little disappointed in the place,(issues with room keys not working, turndown not happening, no papers delivered) but overall, is the best we have stayed at in Vegas. The pool area is not very good, and didn't fancy using the MB pool, so used our old Encore room keys to wander over there and Wynn most days. Terry Fator was alright I guess, but Americans will seem to laugh at anything. Worst buffet vote has to go to TI, what a rip off for $24, no seafood station, no prime rib or pork, hardly any puddings. Mon Ami Gabi was top notch again, Ate there 3 times for dinner and once for breakfast. P.F. Changs was good again as well. Didn't seem to do a lot of the things on our list, just sort of ran out of time. The whole of Vegas resembles a bomb site, road works everywhere. City Centre is a complete eyesore. Vegas is losing it's appeal for me now. you might as well be in Manhattan. The service is going down hill fast, I even got carded in PH, (I am 52) as I didn't have any ID with me the waitress was not going to serve me till I got her to get a manager, bloody joke. Craps took me for a pasting this trip. Went into Luxor and ALL of their bar top VP machines are $1, you gotta be kidding!!
Well, it is gonna be till May next year now before we go again, would have started looking for something to fill in the gap, but just getting fed up with how bad we get treated now, so I will be signing off of this board for a while, because the way I feel at the moment I would only be putting people off if I replied to any questionsThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
SeptemberWe too didn't find the Four Seasons to be anything special although we did get turndown service and a load of extra toiletries on request. However I have noticed a charge from them on my credit card statement online and have emailed for an explanation. The girl at checkout confirmed there was nothing to pay seeing as we had paid in advance and all I can think is that it is for something from the mini bar even though we only opened it to get the milk and didn't touch anything.
Went to see Jubilee! last night and it was really good, far far better than either of us expected.
Didn't go to MAG for dinner as planned as neither of us were hungry.0 -

Nothing wrong with telling people your current opinion on the place Stoneman. If its losing its appeal (and it looks like a lot of people are well peed off at City Center and its affect on getting around)it's much better to keep posting and letting people know there are alternative views and not everybody is currently coming home a happy bunny.
Now if you had said you were going to stop posting because the forum is turning into a waste of space with 75% of the postings completely irrelevant, containing complete garbage that adds nothing to the info or advice on Vegas and should have been sent by private message......0 -
October , NovemberStoneman / folks
you are 100% right the glitz and glamour has gone off this, but it will come back when city centre starts opening,
I thought is was my luck, but I got taken for a ride on my recent trip need to stop gambling i think, but it is vegas!0 -
October , NovemberStoneman, we felt a bit like that about five years ago. We decided we wouldn't bother going for a while. Anyway, we got over it had have been going for longer and longer trips each time since then.
Do you think it was because you were so far south? I always feel a bit out of it down there, to be honest.
I'm hoping that the City Centre traffic situation will improve when it is finally open. At the moment, it's just a monstrosity, but I'm keen to see what it's like when it's complete - I'm a sucker for a tall building, I really like them.0
