    Day 7

I have no idea where we ate on this morning, I am not even sure what we did during the day but I do know that the show we saw that evening was fab.

We went to see The Lion King at Mandalay Bay and had a wonderful evening. We had not seen it in the UK beforehand so I am not sure how it compares. The singing was great, the props and costumes too, this was one of our favourite evenings for the trip.

    Update:
I have remembered why that day was a blank in my memory, we thought we were being clever.

Ok, so we went to see a show every night and we knew it was going to keep costing so we decided to take a morning out to go to the Hilton Timeshare further up on the strip. They promised 90 minutes, if they tell any of you then don't believe them, we got out 4 hours later!

Ok, breakfast was ok, the rep was ok, the apartments were lovely and I can see their point about my money going to something that I own rather than seeing it go to some big corporation etc but how do they think we can sign away £30,000ish that day, I am a money saver, I don't have easy access to that sort of money. Needless to say we did not go for a timeshare, we were tempted but it is not a possibility, so we got our complimentary show and dinner tickets and left.

so give us run down on what to expect if went to see X burlesque :A

Ok, I'm not sure quite what you want to know but... there were six girls, each dance on their own and as groups. It is very raunchy, they do bare their assets to the audience, tease some of the guys in the audience. Burlesque is based on acting out fantasies so that should give you some idea.

The most disappointing part of the evening was the comedian that came on as interval entertainment. I guess she was kind of funny but not hilarious and it spolit it a bit really. I understand the girls probably can't dance for an hour and a half but they could have had something better, or maybe it is used to calm the guys down!

If I can be of any further assistance then please ask but OH agrees with me so you have the opinion of both sexes.

Don't know if there is a restaurant.com offer running at the moment, but I received this "click here" through Borders, it's 80% off, must be booked by the 13th though
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    Day 8

We had breakfast in the Spice Market Buffet at Planet Hollywood. We thought it was nice although the service could have been a bit friendlier! The best bit was the crepes, lighter than most of the ones we had tried so far and gave us a taste of home.

We started the day by exchanging the tickets from the timeshare presentation, what had we picked you ask? Well someone had recommended the V show and we had either already seen or booked tickets for the other possible shows so we went with that. We had planned to see Peepshow after seeing as they are in the same hotel but we got confused with days and times and weren't able to do both so we got tickets to see Fantasy at the Luxor instead.

We went for a drive around Red Rock Canyon today. We didn't pay to do the official circuit because we didn't see the turning, but what we saw was good.

So the day passed and we went to use our dinner voucher at Blondies in PH. The food was quite nice and you get a better choice of food there than you do at the Italian or Mexican. While we were there we were able to watch the fountains display outside the V theatre, they were ok. We had VIP passes for the V show but there were so many in the queue that it was almost as long as the normal queue. When we arrived inside they were seating people anywhere so we didn't get the seats that we had specified and I am afraid it went badly from there. It is a variety show and we did know that before we went in but unfortunately we had already seen three of the acts in the Nathan Burton show so we didn't see as much new stuff as we had expected. Even then the rest wasn't very good so unless you are going with your children I really wouldn't recommend going to see it. We were quite tempted to leave part way through but waited to see if it got better and it didn't!

On the way to see Fantasy we stopped at Coyote Ugly at the corner of New York New York, that was quite a let down too (can you see a pattern emerging?). I think if they are going to use the name of the film then it needs to resemble it a bit better but maybe I expect too much. The dancing on the bar like the film was done well but the girls on the microphone weren't great and they just shouted at the crowd the whole time. We went in for the end of happy hour (2 for 1 cocktails) and when we had finished we left as it wasn't a great atmosphere. It may have just been the night though.

Fantasy: OH loved it, I thought it wasn't nearly as good as X-Burlesque. They also work at indulging your fantasies (obviously) but it just didn't seem so good. The girl compere (I guess that would be her title) couldn't sing very well but she, like the girls in Coyote Ugly just shouted down the microphone. Maybe I am picky I'm not sure or maybe it was just a bad day for me seeing entertainment.

psst, the Cayote Ugly Saloon came first with the film based on the original NY bar. LV opened a year after the film. Do you think if the staff could sing and dance they would be working in a low-life bar in vegas?

True I know that, their dancing wasn't too bad.

I got tickets from the half price ticket booth - cost $35 for 2 tickets. I really enjoyed it, and found the artifacts/stories etc very interesting.
