AugustWe got back from Vegas a week ago, which we enjoyed. I am going to try and remember what we did and where we ate so here it goes.
We spent our first four days in Ballys, we used the $20 trick and it worked. We were two floors from the top and nowhere near the lifts! Although we didn't have a view directly onto the strip we did face North and could look out over the desert. There were some amazing thunder/lightning storms so we had a great view of them.
We arrived too late to eat much on the first night, all the buffets were just closing and we didn't fancy a sit down meal so we just went to the Creperie in Paris, which was ok.
Day 1
We had lunch at the buffet in Flamingo, this became one of our favourites as it had a toaster! I know it is sad but hey.
We were quite exhausted so we didn't really do much apart from finding where things were. We went to book tickets for Jubilee which we saw that night, they were cheaper to get at Bally's box office, and we were given some free tickets for Nathan Burton so we went there in the afternoon.
I think we ate at the Paris buffet that evening, it was ok but I am not a fan of garlic and there was a lot on most of the dishes.
There will be more when my brain remembers...MFW 2025 No. 7 £700/£1200

AugustFirst time I have ever read that someone prefered the Flamingo buffet over the Paris, or any other for that matter :rotfl:
We ate at them for different meals so I can't really comment too much but it most definately was not our favouriteMFW 2025 No. 7 £700/£1200

AugustDay 2
We set out early on this day to sort any tickets we could in advance. We ate breakfast at Mandalay Bay as we were getting Lion King tickets for later in the day. It was nice in here, we expected it to cost far more than it did.
I can't really remember what we did during the day (I can't for most of the trip), so I can't really comment too much.
We ate at Dennys that evening as it was more convenient.
We saw Wayne Brady (one of the guys from Whose Line is it Anyway) at the Venetian and he was great. We cried with laughter through most of it, especially when he dressed up with his dancers as Beyonce, he does a good impression. I think he is there for the rest of this month so if anyone is going he is well worth seeing. I am not sure if any of the half price tickets booths had any cheaper tickets but they didn't the day we bought.MFW 2025 No. 7 £700/£1200

I know there are at least a couple of people off to the Killers shortly in Vegas. I went to watch them last night so I'll give a little update on timings.
I want to the Horseshoe Casino in Elizabeth, IN.
Time on ticket was 8pm.
The support group came on at about 8 and played for 30 minutes (Ra Ra Riot I believe they were called. Pretty good).
All was quiet then until about 9.20pm. The Killers then came on and played until about 10.50pm.
I won't spoil it by giving the playlist or anything else. Except to say they were awesome!!
Sounds about right they're usually 9-9.15ish.
I probably know set list off by heart now :rotfl:but am so looking forward to seeing them in their own back yard!!
Thanks0 -

AugustDay 3
We went to Caesars for breakfast, it was ok but certainly nothing special, we never ate there again so I can't really comment too much on it.
We went to the Auto Collection at Imperial Palace, we had free vouchers in one of the Harrahs booklets. I didn't think it was great so was glad we hadn't paid $8 each. If you aren't staying at a Harrah's chain (we got them at each hotel apart from Paris) then join there Total Rewards at one of the casinos and you will get a booklet that way. OH enjoyed it and I guess it was ok to walk round.
Imperial Palace was one of the only hotels I didn't enjoy walking through and unfortunately we were back there for a show that evening although that was great. We saw Human Nature, a white Australian group who do Motown. There were fab and they had a great band backing them too. OH wasn't keen on going and didn't think he knew too much of the music but he also loved it. It was one of the cheaper shows that we saw, we booked it at the box office and both tickets came in under $100.MFW 2025 No. 7 £700/£1200
