One question for the regulars and there has been at lot of comment on buffets recently. I see buffets mainly as a cafeteria. But some of the buffets we went to had a drinks server like Harrah’s but Sahara didn’t (incidentally $10 evenings was good value when you sign up for their players card) Do you think we should tip them and if so how much. We usually left a couple of dollars, but they didn’t do much for us
couple of bucks is fine, if you feel you have been looked after .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
October , NovemberThanks for the TR, David! I always love reading them and yours was no exception.
Agree with Trets that your tip was fine for buffets with drinks servers. We normally tip $1 each as a rule...sometimes more if it's really hot and we get through a fair few drinks during our meal. They also normally clear dirty plates for you, so that's something else they do..but you're certainly not expected to tip at a level you would for a proper restaurant.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
October , NovemberD'oh....
Anyone know whether there's a way out of this little predicament?...
Through Expedia I've got 4 Tickets flying united via washington (out) and Chicago (in) and two rooms in the Sahara from Oct 20th to 27th.
My Wife and I are using two tickets, and the other two people have bailed out on me.
I've rung expedia who say that name changes aren't allowed at all on the flights, and my only option would be to claim the taxes back on the two non-travellers.... is this correct?
I don't know about the room at the sahara, i'm sure I could claim the cost of that back.
Any ideas anyone? Or is it just gonna be a case of utilising the extra seats I bought so I can lay down accross them all. lol.0 -

Expedia usually book the cheapest fares, unless you paid extra for a fully flexable ticket. You will be able to claim the taxes back, yes, but you need to check the airlines t&c's as sometimes their admin fees for refunds are just as much as the refund itself , so you gain nothing.
As far as utilising the seats, you wont be able to do that, if the passengers dont check in, the seats no doubt will be allocated to someone else.0 -

Killers update!
I know there are at least a couple of people off to the Killers shortly in Vegas. I went to watch them last night so I'll give a little update on timings.
I want to the Horseshoe Casino in Elizabeth, IN.
Time on ticket was 8pm.
The support group came on at about 8 and played for 30 minutes (Ra Ra Riot I believe they were called. Pretty good).
All was quiet then until about 9.20pm. The Killers then came on and played until about 10.50pm.
I won't spoil it by giving the playlist or anything else. Except to say they were awesome!!0 -
SeptemberThanks Neil! Really looking forward to it.0
