Those arent significant disruption! Those are 'wants' not 'needs' - there is a difference!
So you're saying it would be acceptable for me to turn up to a job interview on an emtpy stomach, wearing a creased shirt...?

and these are all life threatening? What did you do before you had a microwave? Use a cooker, a dvd? Take them back, kettle? Use a tap. These are very silly reasons none of them majorly important. *scraping barrel*
Life threating or not, makes no difference, THe customer has paid for something they want to use - Comet stop that usage by their T & C's

Why shouldn't they? I have paid to use an item, not for you to store it for me - Should I then pay for my shopping at ASDA, and wait for a month before they deliver it to me? If I buy something I want to use it.

So what you are saying is we should give out a loan dvd player for every one that develops a fault? Shopping at asda if for food - the necessity of life, your ability not to be able to watch lord of the rings is not. Give me a break.

Up to about 28 working days, and the court thing, we would go to court as often as we like, but mr smith who demands a new 200 pound dvd recoreder because its broken after 10 months decides not to take it any further because a) he has no grounds and b) it would cost significantly more money than he would wish to spend and devote time to.

No you don't. 3 times I have got as far as writing out the small claims court forms, 3 times Comet have seen sense and backed down, one time I got a refund on the item (the Razor) and a cheque from your head office for £50 - clearly I know a little more about Comet at the top then your good self.

And I don't mind a shop getting the oppinion of the manfuacturer as long as I am not inconvienced in any way. But that is not what happens. I recently had to send a faulty Router away, it was a 3com one, and was 18 months old - it came with a 5 year warranty, now all they did was receive the faulty one and sent out a refurbished one - nice and simple no hassle none of Comets lark of we will send an engineer in a week or so, or bring it to us and we will send it to our repair shop for them to look at, and all this taking 28 days, why should I be without a product for that length of time if the item is under a year old!! My Router only took just over a week to sort out - other items I have purchased such as a light from John Lewis, it went faulty after 9 months - The dimmer blew on it - no messing about, just replaced it, 3 months later the same thing happened, again I called them, they said they no longer stocked that item so we could have a refund or a replacement - we found one we liked on the internet and they came an picked the faulty one up and brought the new one with them - this was the local store not on-line. If JL can do it why can't Comet?????

    How it should be yes.

John Lewis give a no quibble two year garentee to most items but hike their prices to match!!!!
My parents always go to John Lewis but i wouldnt pay their prices

I will tell you now exactly what the T&c of such items are

    Kettle - exchange
Iron - Exchange (unless a steam generator)
Microwave - Depends on price but generally an exchange
    Fan - exchange
    DVD - Player -exchange/ recorder - repair

These terms and conditions you keep mumbling about do not apply to SDA items. So please tell me what the problem with the above is?

If Comet are not prepared to replace the item or repair in a realistic time frame then yes. (28 days is not realistic)

No you dont what they are actually trying to do is probably get rid of you so you never shop there again, grief over a razor? does anybody really want that, most razors should be exchanged anyway, if its a whacking great 200 pound one then it may be different.

Tell me, how many days/weeks after purchase is a repair the chosen method?

They offer a price match guarentee, so I would be surprised if you could find cheaper, and if you could they would match it - but they dont stock the cheaper end of the ranges if thats what you mean.
