I am not really surprised. You seem to think you know it all !! but this thread is proving you know very little!!
Believe you me, I know what I'm talking about - that's why Trading Standards have, on more than one occasion, dealt with Comet upon my request.

Not if a repair would cause me significant disruption he can't.

You keep saying signifiant disruption, our engineers call out 6 days out of seven, surely you dont work six days? What do you class a 'significant disruption' then?

There's that word again - policy. A company's policy cannot come before the law and that's a simple fact. I suspect that Comet haven't been closed down because many people take the assistant's word for it. I, on the other hand, know my rights and I exercise them.

You dont seem to know any thing, you just seem intent to abuse the only person here from comet that is try to help us.

Comet have the same policy as every one else who supplys electrical goods (dixons B&Q Department stores.) and yes what they do is within the remit of the sales of goods act. Otherwise they would have been closed down by now.

Oh we have a very good relationship with TS actuallt, most of the time they are on our side and some of the requests they get are ridiculous. You posts a getting shorter and you keep repeating yourself, I myself know the law very well, and have never had to be 'sorted out' by trading standards once.

But you quoted IMEDIATE REUND OR REPLACEMENT a few threads back, where o where has the repair suddenly appeared from?
I would never accept a repair. For a start, I can't think of any item where it wouldn't cause me significant disruption...

Zorber I appreciate this, Marks87 on the otherhand, these are the exact type of customer that we do not wish to have purchasing items from our stores, because it seems that nthing is good enough for you.

I'd also like you to tell me where I've been rude.

I am merely pointing out what rights consumers have. There is no "other side of the story". The law is the law and that is final.

It may help if you knew the law and not just quoting what you think is the law

Of course some of the threads will be ridiculous. My complaints, however, were not - hence the reason Trading Standards were more than happy to get involved.

That's probably because many people in this country still don't know their rights. It's just as well I do.
