I'm thinking of giving up my DF status and getting back into debt:o... I am saving to do this flat up so I can sell it - tis trully awful! But if I got a loan (have been offered one at 8.9%) then I could do it up and enjoy living here until the loan is cleared... mmmm.... still thinking.... Not all debt is bad just bad debt... and I would save up and pay it off in the same amount of time it would take me to save up not that much interest over a year....
any thoughts anyone? is it madness?Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

If you can afford the repayments and it will enhance the value of the flat then I say go for it. The interest is a reasonable rate. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0

Repayments & mortgage are still less than the bigger mortgage I was planning to take on next... It won't be on fripperies and fun honest! I'm thinking it will also look less suspicious that I'm moving than if I've completely done it up immediately before putting it on the market too...
Still swithering but think I shall go for it - idea being I take it out over 3 years but pay it off in one....Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Hey Skint, just having a catch up. Know the feeling about the house, ours is looking really really scruffy now and we are still about 18 months away before we can even start saving to do it up. Sometimes I think if anyone offered us a loan to do it up I would snap their hand off. Luckily no one would be stupid enough to offer us a loan :rotfl:
Hope you and family are ok and well done on the weight loss xx xxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

We are literaly patching up our house so that it doesnt fall down until we clear the mortgage.
There is something in every room that needs doing.
When rooms get really too bad to stand (bathroom was all mouldy and needed a new floor) we set a very low budget (£100 for bathroom) and do our best with that.
We managed to redocorate the bathroom with new flooring and it really has transformed it, the new suite and shower will have to wait:DBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0
