    Wow, it's the weekend...!!!

Bunnie: way to go, you knock 'em dead kid. You'll be great.

Lollypop: fab news about the lead, think positive and well done on the typing test.

Medini: I've never had a group interview before, but I'm sure someone can give you some advice. I would imagine it's a chance to see everyone at the same time rather than lots of one to ones. Child no. 2 had one and was successful. I think she said they had to do some team exercises and generally tell everyone a bit about themselves. You'll be fine. Just do lots of research on the company as that will make a difference.

Louise: Is this the job you didn't like or a completely different one? And do you like this one better? Whatever happens, stay positive and go for it. You have nothing to lose. And yes, contract not extended during probation is a better choice of phrase. It gives you something to discuss with the interviewers. And you can back this up with lots of positive feedback etc. I've had a couple of jobs before where I've left after a short spell and I always offer a positive spin on things if possible. You can do this and good for you for being so active!

Apart from that, Sackcloth is chilling out over the weekend. I've realised how unfit I am after just a couple of weeks as I was exhausted walking the dog yesterday and very stiff today. But good news is I have another iron in a fire so changes are definitely on the way. And although the salaries that I'm chasing may not be as much as the role I'm in, I think I can make some extra up in the long run. And I'd rather be happy.

Catch you all later - stay positive,
    Sackcloth.
Passing it on 24/7... while wearing stylish and confidence building heels!

Weeks until Christmas - 7, yes, I'm already counting...

    Hi all,

Am totally shattered - so haven't read any of this properly. Just had a look at one of my old posts and I said, "dry out the weaker candidates." Obviously I meant try to *draw* out the weaker candidates in a group interview.

I'll read through all the posts properly tomorrow, but for now, hope everyone enjoys what's left of the weekend and have a great week ahead!!

Hi all, Did everyone have a good Monday?

Bunnie, how was your first day in the job? I hope it went well!

I had interview for a retail position today and it went pretty well. The person who interviewed me says she has to discuss with someone else before they make a final decision, but she will definitely be recommending me for a job! I have my fingers crossed, as I'm sure you can imagine.

Hope to hear from you all soon.

    Hello everyone!

Well I am just back from an interview with the company who called me back as they seemed to like me in my last interview with them. I was completely honest about what happened in my old job, and as luck would have it, one of the interviews used to do the same job so totally empathised with me and understood, so it was like having someone on my side.

I think it went well, and I am so glad I was honest with them, as I think it showed that I am trustworthy. Well will wait and see what happens, but I am happy. I have a busy night ahead - I have a careers meeting and then a meeting with childline as I am looking to volunteer with them.

I hope you are all doing well today and that the weather is as bright as it is here :D
  • Wow, Louise. I'm really glad your interview went well. And I think it's a good sign when you the interviewer tells you personal stuff about them, so hopefully that will come good.

I am particularly impressed by your wanting to volunteering with childline. I think it's a really important service, but don't think I could do it myself, at the moment.

I am hoping its gone ok, because I am getting to the stage where I really need to get a job. Its really getting me down but I am trying to be upbeat.
  • Hey,

Glad to hear the interview went well Louise! I have my fingers and toes crossed for you :)

Also glad that your first few days have gone well Bunnie and that your are enjoying the job so far .

I heard from a job that i applied to last week, they basically confirmed that they got my application and said that they have to interview internal applicants before external ones so more waiting. But hey if they screw up i might get an interview :P Also a bunch of deadlines to jobs i have applied to have passed now so maybe i'll get a nibble from one of them.

    xxxx
