Hello everyone!
Just counting down the days till next Tuesday - cant wait! Hope you are al well x0 -
Hays called me yesterday, they have sent my sanctions pack off to be checked over so everything seems to be going okay, so hopefully I will have confirmation I have passed everything and can start soon.
The waiting for all the references, credit checks, etc to come back is horrid, not as horrid as waiting for the interview results to come in, but horrid still. Its like I am in a strange limbo between having a job and not having one. I can't afford to get excited until I sign a contract or am there on my frst day.0 -
Medini - I totally get what you're saying. I feel like that at the moment as well. My employment is basically subject to references, and I'm worried because I left my last job due to ill health, and before I left I had quite a lot of sick. To be honest I just have my fingers crossed that, as they're public sector, they'll just confirm my employment dates and that'll be it. But I'm just sort of sitting here, waiting, not really sure what to do or anything.
Still, I have to sign on tomorrow, so I do need to apply for a couple of jobs today as I haven't done any in what seems like ages (but is actually a week).0 -
Hiya everyone, just wondered if I could join you fellow jobseekers?
Haven't read the whole thread yet but see some have already got jobs, congratulations to those who have.0 -
Hello Kazzajr welcome welcome, the chaps here are a lovely bunch. good luck with the job hunt!
All quiet over here, still hoping to hear from someone (anyone!) soon. Stuck another couple of applications out there - still slogging away. On the upside my boyfriend has mentioned a possible holiday in october so thats exciting

Thanks for the welcome.
I have just started looking now my son is back at school, I'm just looking for something part time but there is hardly anything available, have applied for just 2 jobs so far.
I'm on IS so don't need to sign on and therefore under no pressure to get a job but have asked to see my advisor at JCP every fortnight because I really want to get something soon.0 -
I am sure you will get something0

Medini - from personal experience you will need to chase Hays with regards to getting the references sorted. Also check absolutely everything with a fine tooth comb as they have really messed me about with wages and many other things - I ended up just walking away from a job because it wasn't what they advertised it to be. Hope you have much better luck with them though.
I'm nearing the end of week two of my job (not with Hays - with a smaller agency) The job is brilliant and I am thoroughly enjoying it, also the agency have been amazing and have actually got everything right on my payslip. It's pizza Friday at work tomorrow (the managers buy everyone pizza!)
Hope all you're job hunting is going well and don't forget there is a light at the end of the tunnel.0 -
Hello all, looking forward to the long weekend?
Kazz - welcome aboard the Monty train, we jiggle around in the line and then take our clothes off... lol!! I'm kidding, we take our clothes off first... Good for you for looking for work and I'm sure you'll find something soon.
Bunnie: glad you're enjoying you're job and it's turned out okay. Enjoy the pizza. And good advice to Medini too!
Everyone else, Sackcloth says have Monday off. You were already? Well I never!! Make the most of the sunshine and have a good relaxing weekend. I've been a bit stressed recently, so I'm definitely taking some time out to walk the dogs. :T I've actually missed that quite a lot!
Right oh... on with the motley.
