    Have a great holiday Scrooge!!

I just had the call I've been waiting for and I've got the job I wanted starting Monday, I've gotta drop some certificates and address details off to the agency tomorrow because of the sensitive nature of the job.

Apparently there are problems with 2 of my referees because they are away on holiday at the moment, apparently one is back on Monday and one is back the middle of August (pain or what!) but they have let me give some personal referees so hopefully those will suffice.

    Feeling much more positive now.

Congratulations Bunnie - that's great news. It's always nice to hear that someone else has got a job, because, apart from anything, that way you can be confident that these applications aren't just disappearing into a black hole! And Scrooge, have a great holiday.

I had a job interview yesterday which went really well. The interviewer said I was a strong candidate, but he's just concerned that I'm overqualified (can't win!). We also seemed to have a really good rapport - he ended up telling me stuff about where he went to school and things, which I think is a very good sign. Should here the middle of next week.

I've been in a sort of pattern recently, where roughly the time I hear that I've been unsuccessful after an interview, I hear about another interview. Of course I do have an interview with an agency in a couple of weeks (which I'm dreading as I can't find my GCSE certificates at all) - I'm hoping that doesn't count.

Feel like death today though - up too late last night I guess, so may well not get any applications done, as I have other stuff I really need to do. Still, I can do a few over the weekend.

    Morning everyone!

Well today is going to be spent anxiously waiting by the phone to find out about this job, as apparently they were getting back to everyone by the end of this week. Surely it cant be any longer, as the job starts on the 1st of September, and if people have to hand in 4 weeks notice, they HAVE to do it now!

    Argh I hate this feeling!

Arrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I'm so frustrated I want to scream!!!

They are having a nightmare getting my references in, one of the agencies who I worked through previously are claiming never to have heard of me!! (fortunately I have got pay slips and stuff to prove) however I've been told that because of the problems with references it will push my start back to Tuesday or Wednesday......I'm so frustrated!!

haha i know exactly how you feel! Its my references I am waiting on and its driving me insane - I really want to phone them again and see if there has been any progress with my application but I dont want it to seem like I am pestering them, but I am getting really anxious and impatient.

Hello all and glad to see you've all been busy in my absence!! :T Well done to everyone who's been busy, got an interview or landed that job. I'm delighted to hear that everyone is staying positive too... :j

Bad news though, on the job front for Sackcloth. Having started the new job with high hopes and knowing that we had no money, no prospects and I had to take the first job I was offered, I am now feeling very down and tearful.

The job's okay... actually, it's probably a very good job with good prospects - it's just it's not right for me. I re-read my original posting to you all and the signs were there that I had reservations, even my OH had reservations and just because the office didn't move, doesn't mean that the job was the right one. My concerns about being flexible 24/7 have certainly been right and I am now pretty much on call all the time something I was adamant that I didn't want at the beginning of my search. However, with the recession biting badly, it just didn't happen and now I'm stuck in a job that I feel is going to take over my whole life and I'm incredibly overwhelmed.

I thought it might be adjusting back to work and having been off for such a long time but the truth is that I had to convince myself to take this role because it really wasn't what I wanted to do. I never let on to my OH that I hated the idea of going back in to the same line of work and although he is supportive, he's a bit surprised that I am feeling so down this early on.

I always felt really positive about getting another job but I guess in the end I had to settle for something - anything. And I feel more resentful than I did when I first was made redundant, damn it!!!

Of course, I'm not going to give up the job - we really do need the money but please could you all tell me how stupid I am so I can knuckle down and get on with this job without moaning???!!!

    Yours in despair...
    Sackcloth... :o
Passing it on 24/7... while wearing stylish and confidence building heels!

Weeks until Christmas - 7, yes, I'm already counting...
