Well done Scrooge! x0

Thanks you are so sweet xx
An observation that I made about the District Manager, is that her job was huge. She had 33 staff directly under her and covered half of Scotland. Yet she would be responsible for doing my job herself, if I was off sick .
She reported directly into the top man, and it is a big company.
In the 'good old days' she would have had Area Managers and Team Leaders reporting into her, but company structure is so flat now, that she is probably doing what 4 people did previously.
She had excellent people skills though and I bet her team rally around her.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Heres hoping things start picking up for everyone - its great to hear some good news0

Well done scrooge!
Well finished my two days at the assignment so now have to pick up something else. Had two voice messages left on my mobile regarding jobs with agencies, but as I was out of work late I will give them a call tomorrow.
I spent until 8:30 last night job hunting - I too go from moments of being really confident to moments when I'm really down.0 -
Congratulations Scrooge! That's very exciting news.
I have done a little better over the last 36 hours. After I posted here on Monday I shot off 7 applications (not the best ones ever - CV and covering letter, although I did adapt my letter where I thought appropriate). Then yesterday I applied for 4 jobs (not that many I know), I also did some of my volunteering and two loads of laundry! In addition I wrote my weekly letter to my therapist (who is away at the moment). I also heard that I have an interview tomorrow! Here's hoping. Ooh, I also went to the library (the internet was down so I could do any job applications there) and took out two books on writing covering letters. I will probably read them over the weekend then take out some others on jobseeking.
I overslept this morning, though, which is one of my big problems at the moment
How is everyone else doing?0 -
Wow Lollypop - you are a dynamo!
I'm afraid I have started oversleeping in the morning as well, so I end up doing stuff at midnight to catch up - madness.
I got up at 7am this morning and made myself crack on. Good luck with everything0 -
I always oversleep too and feel the worse for it. Bad times! Hope you are all well.0

Ended up going to bed at 8:30 last night, think I had a bit of a chill from being caught out in the rain walking back from assignment yesterday.
The positive things for today:
- Have got an interview tomorrow at 12:15 for a temporary job in a bank
- Have got an meeting next Wednesday with an agency to discuss vacancies
- Have got a couple of job leads with the agency I'm with
- Have got an aptitude test on 11th August for a job I applied for
Also just waiting to hear back about another interview - there are two jobs within the same company and I'm trying to organise both interviews on the same day.
Have applied for a couple of jobs this morning, also need to call back about a glass collecting job in a bar - it's only 15 hours a week but it's evenings so won't conflict with any full time job I may get.
Also doing a mystery shopping assignment.0 -
Hi Bunny - another little dynamo! Brilliant. Good luck for your interview tomorrow0

Something's got to come out of that lot Bunnie/Lollypop.
You'll probably find it's like the buses, nothing comes and then they all turn up at the same time. Seriously, though that is how it often happens.
Up and down days are par for the course, but those great, productive days which you seem to be having are often the ones that bring results.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0
