I hope all is going well for you & DD?!?0

Things have been going well until about 10 days ago when something happened at dd's school which means we have now been reported to Social Services by the Head for a second time. It's been so draining and upsetting. For those who will recall, this happened to me in 2010 and that time I managed to obtain a formal apology. This time given the way yet again it's all been handled and the reasons why it has been deemed essential to refer me I feel I have no option but to get dd out of that school and fast. I do not feel they believe in me as a parent, I do not feel I can trust my dd's welfare to them 6 hours each day. I do not feel they have a grasp of what it is to have a disabilility. So, today I have contacted another school and am waiting for the Head to contact me and then apply and go from there. Suffice to say Children Services are NOT taking the matters further but we've been reported and the act of reporting it clearly shows to me that school do not have faith in my parenting ability. And more importantly, I have no faith in them, I simply do not trust them so I need to get us away from there. My friends are being v supportive but it has been the case that I have cried for England these last few days, I really have. Dear dd is caught up in the middle of it all, and clearly did not intend for this situation to occur. Poor dd. Stress all round.
Other than that we are doing ok. I am a bit lost with finances etc at mo because all of my thoughts have been about what to do about dd's school. I do know I achieved my higher bonus and so finances should be good. I will not be paying for dd's school trip until I know for certain what is happening with her schooling. dd may only have one more year at Primary School after this one, but for me its 1 year too many to be continued at her existing school.. There will be a letter on it's way to the Governors and others at the appropriate time that is for certain. Take care!My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)
May 2013 £124,080.27= £37,903.50 paid off WOW!!!!! Well done! There is a guardian angel out there! :AI'm visualising success, debt freeness, and happy days!:T0 -
Oh no, P&F, I was only wondering yesterday if you were ok as you usually post once a week.
I quite agree with your assessment of the school, and that you need to remove DD from a negative environment. I'm so sorry they have caused so much upset for both you and your DD. The governors should definitely be made aware, and I'd be inclined to say appraise them of the situation now, rather than wait until DD moves school.
The school are breaking the spirit of the Disability Act. They're probably breaking the Disability Act, but I don't know it well enough to be able to say that for certain. Their actions are having a detrimental effect on your DD's wellbeing.
In terms of school trips, by the way, did you know that schools have access to funding for school trips so that if parents are unable to afford the trip cost, the child can still go?
Hugs for you and your daughter, P&F xxWhat would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -

What are the school playing at, surely if they tried to cause problems once and it got them nowhere, why are they doing it now.
I totally agree, you need to get DD out of there, is the school where the head ringing from nearer for you, shes the same as my DD (yr 5), we've had problems but have had our hands tied (different story) so we have to grin and bear it, but its not gd.
I would put a formal complaint into the head - as the head is the issue then you need to go straight to the board of gov's making sure addressed private and confidential for the head gov.
i can't see what their problem is, - your doing everything you can, and your getting it thrown back in your face.
I'd look into whether their breaching and disability acts - def sounds like they have crossed the line.
I feel awful as i wish there was something constructive I could say - but can send a virtual hug.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I am sooo disappointed to read this P & F. I'd hoped you hadn't posted because you & dd were enjoying your time together swimming etc and that you were just tired as a result.
Good luck with getting this one sorted!0 -
Aw PaF - I'm sorry to hear that.
Not being a parent and never having sent a child to school I have no practical advice to offer, but virtual hugs are a-plenty!

So sorry that things are going too well at DD school. You would have thought it was in DD best interests for the SCHOOL Not to rock her boat, considering all you have gone through in the last few years...
Sucks, and hope it is sorted now
