So, bang, and the egg debt was gone! Have allocated my PPI payment to debt and my egg at its worst was £6800, then it became £3584 at the point of repaying it off in total this week so now its nil, have also reduced my barclaycard debt. Basically was always too embarrassed to detail on here my credit card and od debt. Too ashamed by it. Looking at my earlier spending diaries from 2009 I used to spend in excess of £100 eating out each month and that was me reducing that bill. It was so much higher before my LBM I now realise just howmuch I hated coming home and dwelling on my dh situation and I would be simply too tired to cook anyway. So dd and I went out to eat to feel part of normality when I felt our life was anything but.. Anyway, at my LBM in Jan 2009 it was £33K, then by Jan 2010 it became £36490 by then due to the snow which prevented me from working at my best and a large tax bill. After monthly spending diaries still ongoing and reducing outgoings, with a bit of help from PPI refunds, despite around 18 falls, its now approx £19179 according to my calculations. I will not update my sig just yet until I receive an accurate barclaycard balance. That includes an od facility of £2500. There is still a long way to go but if I can achieve debt repayment of approx £17300 in 2 and a half years albeit with a bit of PPI help with the increased snowballing I can now get into action I do not see being df as too far away. Can anyone give me the link to do a snowballing plan? I can not find what I did with that info.. Thank you..Then once the debt has gone I can move on to the mortgage..!
Went to pay some cash into my Halifax account this week and was advised that if I change my account my charges a month for using the od would be reduced by £20 plus I get last months charges refunded. Whats the catch I asked, there isn't came the reply, so I have done it. Just in the nick of time because I was planning to prioritise my od facility in light of recent news from this site that from Nov the Halifax are going to charge £2 a day instead of £1 for any od over £2K. That would have been extortionate. Anyway, at the same time as changing my account over, the man seemed to think they could get some of my debt on a reduced intersest rate. I was quite upfront with him. Said I was intent on repaying the debt I had as quickly as possible so I was due to revise my snowball plan. Whats a snowball plan he asked! So, I told him! Anyway, he said he would check if I would be accepted basically for any loan and he has said I would be. I have told him as thats the case I just want to know figures at this stage, not sign up to anything. One, I want to see what they offer because I have £400 of my debt on 19.9 apr, then my MBNA debt is at 9.9APR, then the rest of my debt is at 5% APR. I am intrigued as to what they can offer me and for how much. And also if I am going to really pass the credit score procedure. If I do then that would giveme confidence to check out 0% deals potentially, open up more options to get my debt down quicker. So, the appt is on Weds and I am going to be strong and not be sold anything there and then.. I want to do whats right for me, not the Halifax.. All that said I am also tempted to cancel the appt, do I need to find out that info really? I think Im doing ok. Or would I be shooting myself in the foot if I dont?
Other news, my tax return has been completed, I just need to advise tax credits of the figures so that is all upstraight and keep aside what I need to pay next January to the tax man. Dd and I are attending a birhday party today of my best friends dear husband who also happens to be her god dad so we are both looking forward to that. Things with my family are as they are. The hope had been to give my dad his fathers day card and present when he dropped dd off on Monday but he just drives off once dd is out of the car and I open the front door. No facility to say Hi Dad, thenks for dropping dd back dad or goodbye dad. Its the same every week. I don't know if its that he's angry with me or embarrassed by the situation as it is. My mum used to bring dd back sometimes but that doesn't happen anymore and the reason they bring dd back as oppsed to me collecting her is because mum insisted they do. But the good news is I have seen my counselling lady for the last time this last week and she has concluded I am not going mad, that I am perfectly normal, my bereavement issues concerning dh are perfectly normal, that I am doing really well in trying circumstances and having someone from that profession conclude that about me is really heartwarming.
So, thats me for now. Go and get some breakfast now...My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)

You are doing really well!0 -
Go on PaF!
If you have managed to clear that amount of debt in such a short amount of time, the rest of it doesn't stand a chance, particularly given that the interest rates on the remaining debt will be much smaller than the bigger debts that you have busted. You must feel great knowing that you have come so far, and although there is still some way to go, it will fly by in next to no time.
And I'm glad that you've finally realised that you aren't mad. We've been telling you for ages, but you just wouldn't listen! Please call me 'Pickle'

Just a quick post. Went to the bank yesterday. Saw a lovely man who has restoredmy faith in the bank as he was genuinely wanting to help, not just sell! I am keeping things as they are for now. My plan is as follows:
1. Cancel the two cards Ive paid off, JJB and Egg.
2. Reduce limits on two of the remaining 4 . Done.
3. Focus all excess repayments onto Barclaycard to get the reduced interest rate so I need to repay £400 to get that there.
4. Then focus all free monies onto Natwest to whom I owe £1300 to give the psychological boost of paying another debt off completely in a relative short space of time.
This is my goal for the next 6 months or so.
A short and sweet post today ...for a change!!!Feeling very positive and focused about everything. All continues to be well!My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)
