For what it's worth, I think you have a sensible attitude to moving on with your family: they have to accept you for who and what you are, not who and what they think you should be. Until they do that, you will never be happy, so now the line is drawn in the sand, hang on in there and see what happens. It might take a bit of time for them to come round, or they might never (here's hoping for the former), but whatever happens, you will be leading your life in a way that makes you happy, secure and successful and that's the main thing.
Here's to the next year being your best ever! :T :T :T :TPlease call me 'Pickle'

Oh, thank you so much one and all. Yes, Im now 47!! Had a lovely day. Spent the morning watching dd's sports day and basically chatting to other mums which was nice. Then went to my dear friend who insisted I kept my purse in my handbag, took me out for lunch and then took me to the cinema to watch The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. If you haven't seen it you need to. Fantastic film, so good. Then came home, dd was returned from another friend who had collected her from school very kindly and we went to Frankie and Bennies which was really nice..
Thanks Pickle for your feedback re family. I have wondered if Im doing the right thing then I keep going back to how much my mum in particular wantsme to change my life and I just can't go there anymore. The space is certainly doing me good and I realise I need to keep on my path, not the path someone else wants for me, I have told her I love her many many times when having to say that I am going to carry on as I am so time will tell how things evolve..
So, heres the positive news: With the Kl order I've just put through I know I have qualified for the competition award. Dd and I saw my brother and his new wife on Sunday for lunch and I was telling them about how I was hoping to achieve it and how if I did I would want to go to Birmingham in September with a friend to attend the conference where the awards will be.... well awarded. I just happened to say how I need to get things sorted for dd re childcare never thinking they would offer, my dd has never stayed with any family at all ever, in the past I always took her with me and arranged childcare at the venue in order I could go. But my new sister in law said we would love to have dd to stay! really I asked? Well, that would be terrific, thank you so very much so all being well thats what will happen. My brother is very supportive of me without getting involved in who said what and so on in the family and I am forever grateful to him and his wife for offering their assistance in this way..
Other news, received my final PPI cheque which I banked today. Needs to clear of course and I will be paying off more debt so willupdate my sig when thats been actioned. Another step in the right direction.
So, tom dd and I are meeting my cousin and her little dd. Looking forward to that. Its a lovely sunny eve here having rained for virtually the entire day. Off to do some chores and have a nice eve with dd...My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)

It just gets better, doesn't it?!
Keep going, Paf: you are on the right path. If it ever stops being the right path, you will know it inherently, just as you now know that it is not the right path for now.

Well done on making the target for the Kleeneze that is awesome. And well done on sticking to your guns ref your family. Sadly they have proved over and over that they are too toxic to be in constant contact with.
But yeah to brother and new SIL for saying DD could stay that is lovely
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
