Well, the wedding was wonderful. My dear brother, it's clear he and his wife are very much in love, very comfortable with each other and think the world of one another. It was just lovely. Nice to see the rest of the family too. Mum and I ended up keping our distance from each other.
When she and dad arrived I smiled over at them politely and mum brushed past me, said hi to everyone else in thegroup I was with, ignored me totally so it would have been embarrassing to make a specific Hi Mum then as that would have hghlighted the fact even more if you know what I mean in front of the others. She noticed Ihad a hat on and that was it until she and dad left and she said they were leaving to which I replied I hope they had a safe journey. That was that! All manageable and so my best wishes are with my brother and his wife and onwards and upwards!

Yesterday sounds like it was lovely, PaF: well done on negotiating the family politics so well. I think you may have been right about the motives behind the offer of a lift and were clever enough to sidestep the potential issues. It's a pity you always have to think one step ahead, but keep on keeping on as you are doing it well! Please call me 'Pickle'
