This thread is in danger of becoming somewhere to criticize new test members. Can we all just stop please? If people are in need of advice can we either give it, or hold our tongue. We can't all be perfect at something when we start out. Let RI decided if someone is going to be any good at it or not.
I dont think anyone is in danger of critising anyone. It hasn't got personal and people are merely sharing experiences and voicing concerns. Nothing wrong with that. Let people speak!! I think newbies should read this thread properly so they do know what to do and not jeopardise receivers positions. It's not the senders who will suffer here. Think about it.The art is not in making money, but in keeping it!!!0 -

Totally agree, it just sounds like most of the old members are very disgruntled and this is a rather unpleasant thread, one which is pointless posting any questions on, which is a shame.
I did work out what to do but the wording of some of the conflicting instructions isn't the best, I can see why some people are confused.0 -
Maybe not disgruntled, possibly like me panelists do not want to be outed to their postman/Royal Mail by other panelists (Be they new or old) mistakes/disregard for traing information that is freely available on the survey site to panelists and is required reading for all panelists (Old or new)!
Each week a sheet of paper is sent within the posting envelope that contains all details for that weeks postings!
If ALL panelists use that for their information on when to post as they should, there really is no need to attach any details to the letter being posted about time/date of posting!
Also, remember that there is a 0800 freephone number direct to the survey team who are all very helpful and if you need an answer quickly/have made a mistake you are worried about, use this line, believe me no question is too silly compared to some I have come out with in my time on the panel!
Above all remember, this is meant to be a SECRET survey, if panelists are outed to postman/Royal Mail in any way then they are removed from the survey often through no fault of their own!
So just remember the secret bit everyone and have fun doing the survey x"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138

It doesn't help that it is the same questions being asked over and over again, so even if some of the instructions may confuse some people a simple search of this thread would find the answer to the question being asked many times over. The "newbie" would have their answer without having to post at all.
I thought this thread was supposed to be for general discussion about the survey not as a replacement for the on-line training or for RI's helpline number and email address. If so many people are having trouble following the instructions on the website, it actually makes sense for them to call the helpline rather than post here. That way RI get to know that their instructions might be confusing people, ask here and they are left in blissful ignorance.
For what it is worth, I think that the vast majority of people on this thread have always been helpful to other members, old and new, and a lot more tolerant of "dumb" questions than on some other threads on MSE that I don't care to mention.
SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0 -
at the risk of causing fatigue, I applied, filled in the form and all that, was asked at the bottom for a code, I had no code and so clicked that on the drop down, I have had no email from them, is that a bad sign?Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

Hi all, just wandering if there is anyone else in ***** doing this and if so, hav they managed to add the postbox in ***** to their postboxes. It has no code on it and I emailed RI to ask but they couldn't find it on their records. Thanks
Please forgive me if you feel that I am particularly picking on this poster as an example...but...if I were a royal mail employee, who is perfectly able to read these threads, would the contents of this post give me an indication of which postboxes should be prioritised ...as its possibly one used by a member of the test panel........!!
I dont want to be thought of as a "disgruntled" older panelist or am I using my post to be critical of other members or trying to turn the thread into an unplesent one... but panelists really shouldnt be putting such specific information about where you post onto what is a open forum read by all
PLEASE do not give out information about the panel....it just jepodises any results and measurments the independant research company collates....
Ive hopefully edited the quote so the original poster may also wish to do the same to protect the identity of their postng area...frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I believe they choose panellists according to where they have spaces in a particular area...so the fact that you ticked the no code option isnt necessarily the end of your application.
When I originally requested to join I heard nothing for over a year...more applicants are being taken on at the moment as there is a panel rotation....but once a vacancy becomes available in your area they will hopefully contact you to see if you are still interested in taking part.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I've been accepted for this, and have found out it runs for a 6 month period. I'm moving soon - is there any way of accepting the trial, but swapping addresses during the period? Otherwise I'm not sure I can participate0

That's really a question for them directly, but I expect it would depend on where the new address is. If it's in the same postcode district, then it may well not be a problem (I've been on the panel & moved within the same town). If it's a different postcode area though, that would depend on availability in the new area (I've also moved to a different city & that time had to leave this because there were already enough panellists in the new area)0
