Royal Mail Surveys

Just received a letter posted in Ryde IOW and they have stuck the R number label on the back of the envelope!!
I can't mention it to RI because I will be removed from panel as they do when they think postie has sussed out what the post is.
I hope that if the person reads this forum, they will think about the implications and follow the correct procedure in future.
Hi
I too have received 2 letters over the last couple of months with barcodes on so I emailed them the no off the back and they were contacting the person involved. They never mentioned being removed from the panel but I have noticed that they have stopped sending the barcodes out on the sticky labels now.0 -
Just had to pay the postman £1.36 for a letter which turned out to be a test mail with no franking mark on it!
I'm also spending more time now shredding letters, which we used to send back, for no extra reward.
Have you e-mailed about this charge as I am sure they wil cover the costs.
How many letters are you having to shred? As soon as I have entered the details, the letter is shredded - just a few seconds. In my opinion not a problem.0 -

Quite correct.
I find it amazing how many posters come on here and complain about what they are having to do. The simple answer is resign - no-one is forced to continue taking part and there are usually other people who would be happy to join.
RM is struggling to survive so perhaps we should look at this as not only a way of getting stamps/making money but something we are helping to improve so it will remain. I should hate to see RM disappear because I am sure if the postal service became totally privatised we would be hit by much higher costs and possibly not a regular daily delivery.

I got the "interesting" email yesterday, have said yes as this is only a test to see if what they are thinking of doing will work. As for having more work now that we don't have to send stuff back I just entered a letter which came this morning, a couple of seconds to record the details and a couple more to rip it into pieces and put it in my recycling bag - simple!0

I got the other e mail too, and said yes, I dont mind and like you say it only takes a few mins a day to do it.0 -
I received the other email too, it's only going to happen around twice a year so not exactly onerous!
I live in a very rural area and with rural services already poor, I feel it's really important to do this survey so that Royal Mail can get feedback on their work.0 -

I'm tempted to give up as well - I have enough stamps to last for many years so only really do it for the other freebies which turn up now and again and, I assume, will disappear during the times we are not live on the survey. I'm also spending more time now shredding letters, which we used to send back, for no extra reward.
Its well worth emailing them and letting them know that you have had to pay. This happened to me a few months back. I sent an email and they send me a whole book of first class stamps as compensation.0 -
Given that all panelists face a 50% cut in "income" doing this survey I'm surprised that it is being defended by several posters on here. This has followed on from the cut in vouchers for the correctly delivered survey.
I wonder if new panelists will be recruited to replace those resting or whether active panelists will be asked to post more or simply less data will be collected.
The Royal Mail cannot fail because of the legal public service requirement.0 -
I've not received the "50% cut" email yet so I'm not sure if it does affect all panellists.
I've had the other email though and said yes instantly.
At the end of the day, it's not as if any of us are getting a massive income from this - even on the parcel monitor. I'm still quite happy to do it for the handful of stamps each month - if nothing else it gets me out of the office a few times each week.0 -

I haven't had the 50% cut either, will wait and see what happens, but I have no problem only doing this for 6 months out of the year!:)"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138
