I quote my delightful store manager when I say 'my TL and managers are to look like TL and managers', even the weekend STL has to wear full shirt and tie and I am supposed to be dressed smartly and believe me, my manager minces no words about the clothes I wear or my hair style when I go into work!
  • interesting, as far as a i know TLs should still only wear uniform, its CSS and managers allowed own clothes. We had this discussion with our manager a few weeks back :)

Thats really unusual - you would have thought it would have been company wide policy. I know the TL of all the stores in my area all wear their own clothes. Interesting!
  • what area are you? im on north wales/central or whatever they call it now.

as far as im aware, different stores are given different info on TLs wearing uniform or their own clothes? - our stores TLs used to be allowed to wear their own clothes but when our area manager came for a visit one day he decided one of them was wearing too-revealing clothes (her top wasa bit low cut and rose above the tops of her trousers when she bent down) and so they now have to wear uniform.

I did wonder originally if it was to do with store banding (mine is band 5) but have seen lots of stores with lower banding with same policy, so I think it must be managers discretion.
