MONEY MORAL DILEMMA. Should Cheryl substitute Ashley’s mayo?

  • Hellmanns Mayonnaise is definitely superior to other brands and I think I would detect the difference because it's what we always have. If my wife debunked me with a "no frills" version then the joke would be on me, but it's hardly a major deception !
  • Get him to deceive himself thereby letting you off the hook. So yes, swop the bottle contents and then get him to lay the table and to choose any sauce HE wants.

Given that most blokes think women spend too much, why not use the financial arguement? "Darling, great news, I've found a way to save money on food shopping and still eat the same quality of food."....

Or, as men like to think we come up with the best ideas, Cheryl should manipulate a trip to the supermarket with him and get him to suggest why not try to save some money by buying the cheaper brand. Then, she can say "Oh darling, you're so clever. Why didn't I think of that?".

    We blokes are suckers, really!

I am sure that she has got a food processor/blender. Just make her own mayonnaise for pennies and tell him that it is much fresher and better for him! If she likes ,then she can use the old Hellman's jar for storage in the fridge (washing it out thoroughly each time of course.)
Now that would be a trend!!!
  • Ashley should be given the budget and sent out to do the shopping for the next six months and give Cheryl a rest. I believe that equality between the sexes should exist at home also. Food snobs are simply big spoilt children.

I really don't buy the argument that if she is fibbing about that, she will fib about other things. Are there really that many marriages where everyone is scrupulously honest? Sometimes you have to oil the wheels a little...
If he can't tell the difference then carry on or at least carry on for a long time before telling him. Otherwise he will think of a million and one reasons why he couldn't tell the difference at the time.
Ps yes making your own mayo is easy peasy, even without a blender. But you can't keep it for very long, that's the problem.

Ha Ha....my 12 year-old is a brand snob, so I've done this is the past myself. Got found out with the Weetabix however....even though I put the shop's own brand in the Weetabix box. Ah well, it doesn't always work!

She should tell him, but only after he's tried it.
If he can't tell the difference then everyone is happy.

I remember when my mom tried to fob me and my sister off with non Heinz beans without telling us, we both thought they'd gone off or something, and we returned to Heinz after that!

Blind taste tests are a good idea for those with huge brand loyalty, but they can also backfire, as my mom can testify!

If she continues to lie, in my opinion, that's not a very good basis for a relationship.
I'm sure if me and my sister hadn't mentioned that the beans tasted different (or disgusting as I think we said!) then my mom would have said, and we would have been happy to carry on eating the non Heinz brand.

I agree totally, let HIM do all the work!

This is hilarious, reminds me of the night we substitued 'cheap bottled beer' for our friend's 'branded beer' without telling him, until the next morning, he didn't notice!

As for spoilt children, a friend of my son said he didn't like chicken but would eat Turkey,.......................guess what I told him the 'chicken' was and yes, he ate it and asked for seconds!! lol!!!!!
