  • Hi Nazma,
I am also a dissatisfied customer of Wolstenholmes (W), and would be very happy if you or someone else could help me.
I am waiting for a payment of a mere £80 or so (due to errors in calculations on W's part).
We have received nothing from the Land Registry, nor any final deeds.
Additionally, we are waiting for clarification regarding the garage which was included with the property that we bought in April, which now it may seem is not included. Surname JAENSCH: please check.
  • As another dissatified customer I PM'd Nazma and received a reply saying she no longer works for Wolstenholmes!

Oh how I wish I had found this thread before I parted with £300!
  • Another sucker here!

    Do not use this firm.
  • I have tried to call them last Friday (11th Dec) and today (Mon 14th Dec) but only get their answer phone. I am kind of worried as they have out passports and birth certs etc...

I have (foolish as I did not check MSE) instructed these b*******s for my conveyancing

    They were entirely inept
Today I tried contacting may different people/depts - no luck
    Think they've closed

Then rang Solicitors Regulation Authority, who confirm they have received many similar complaints since Fri 11 Dec 2009, but won't tell me (the innocent consumer) what's afoot

I suspect there's major problems here

    Don't touch with a bargepole!!!

Also SRA is mostly about protecting fellow b******d lawyers!!
  • Hmmm...closed? I'm an EA and we've just completed on a purchase where Wolstenholmes managed to be an unmitigated nightmare from start to finish. Would be interested to know if they have actually closed! The company I work for has actually issued a policy that we would prefer not to deal with them, as it's not the first time they have nearly ruined a transaction with their incompetence. Obviously, if somebody is insistent then there's not much we can do, but if they have closed then it will save us some bother!
Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.
  • what happens to all the files and papers if they have closed

The SRA 'intervene' in the practice and appoint a local solicitor to take custody of all the files etc and to deal with clients.

Any money itself will be safe too so don't worry about that.
  • Hi Yorkie1
If money is safe, will we be able to get it back? We couldn't just sit and wait and appointed a new solicitor....
