  •:mad::mad::confused::confused::confused:Just in case any of you are unaware, Anthony Danvers has apparently left WolstenHolmes. Not sure when? Whether he was pushed or left of his own accord who knows. We only found out through our estate agent who has not once been able to get through to them through the whol 3 months this straight forward move has dragged out for.

Good Luck to all who made the mistake and to anyone who is thinking of going to WolstenHolmes - DON'T.

4 weeks later and no further forward!! recieved an email from caseworker confirming she has recieved correspondance from Persimmon (which they have actually sent twice)!! and that she will progress purchase ie, send off for searches etc so we can exchange contracts. 2 weeks after this email got another one explaining that the person dealing with our purchase has changed due to a re-structure!! Contacted this new person to be told no searches have been requested! Now 4 weeks behind and if they can be bothered to request searches that will take another 2 weeks and then we may be in a position to exchange, this has now knocked our completion date back approx 6 weeks. A simple purchase, we have no property to sell. Why are these people allowed to practise and advertise their services when they can clearly not deliver???
up to now the new person has sent us some documents to sign as promised, however, am not getting my hopes up as so many false promises and big let downs with this company, wish i had cancelled early on and went local. Has anyone actually got to the end result with this firm? would be interested to know???
  • I SO wish I had read all this before I agreed to pay £450 upfront, & use this firm. So far we are on the 5th person to deal with our sale & purchases. Sadly it seems our buyers solicitors are on a similar level, so we're not holding out a lot of hope. Our asked for completion date has come & gone, & I can't see an end to it.
Does the Law Society know about the problems with this firm?
No-one gets back to you, I've spoken to so many voice-mails now I've lost count, they appear rude & discourteous when you do get through.
Moving home is one of the biggest things you do in life, & they are adding to the stress so very much.
    Can nothing be done?
We are so far down the line I don't want to pull out, but please, if you are tempted by the low prices, think again. Don't use this firm.

    Hi all,

Hopefully you won’t all shoot me down straight away, but I’m from Wolstenholmes and wanted to take this opportunity to apologise for the service each of you have received. I’ll be honest with you, I’m new to the company and I, along with a number of new staff have been brought in to help resolve any issues and really make improvements to the client experience.

I appreciate that most of you have not been happy with Wolstenholmes Solicitors, hence the reason why you’ve posted here, but we really want to make a change and improve the service we deliver to our clients…starting with you.

I know a lot of you have left messages/voicemails and if your case still hasn’t been resolved please can you PM me with details and I will try my best to get things moving as fast as possible for you.

    Thanks,

    Nazma
***I no longer work for Wolstenholmes so can no longer help with any complaints...thanks to all that PM-ed me and good luck to anyone with an ongoing issue***

We're working hard to cover all the bases, and this is just one part of the process.

No offence, but having read the rest of this thread I won't be taking the risk of instructing Wolstenholmes as I was planning to. It's taken me nearly two years to find a buyer for my property and I need to know that the legal side of things is going to be handled competently and professionally -what I have read here has given me no confidence whatsoever in Wolstenholmes.

Good luck with your new job but it looks like it will be an uphill battle !
  • I have to say it's very encouraging to read the message from Nazma. Let's hope you & the new staff start to build a better reputation for them. We all went with Wolstenholmes because we all wanted to save money. Sometimes cheapest doesn't always mean best! (although they were not the cheapest quote by far).
It seems it's my buyers buyers who are now holding up the chain, & not a fault of Wolstenholmes at all now. My calls are being returned at last, but yet another assistant has left, so I'm onto number 6 now!!
  • I don't know anything about Wolstenholmes, having never had them on the other side of a conveyancing transaction. However, as I said with Conveyancing Warehouse/Roberts, where Wayne Roberts came on a thread to offer to deal with issues, you have to give Nazma brownie points for doing the same.
    RICHARD WEBSTER

As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.
