I think if I invited someone to dinner and they turned up and said "hi, I made you some delicious homemade hokey pokey, but I ate most of it on the way here", I might respond with "hello, lovely to see you, I made a delicious dinner for us all but we got impatient and have just finished polishing it off...but we saved the washing up for you"

(And yes, I know it's all for TV, but hey
)
Oh and if I tried to drink/eat soup in a taxi I'd not only end up with it all over me, but all over the taxi and the taxi driver too

I record them- so, has anyone tried this ruddy recipe yet and does it work?
yep. few people posted on the thread about this i posted last night over on the christmas thread (i thought it was a fabby idea for a christmas pressie of some kind), that they'd tried it straight away. Chewy, rather than crunchy, was the report.

Are you really surprised its a studio set? Having cameras in your kitchen to make a series would be a nightmare and not very practical.
Even Delia's series weren't filmed in her kitchen. They converted another room in the house to be a "kitchen" for filming purposes.
Oh. And "My Family" isn't filmed in a real house, neither is "Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps Please".0 -
Hi all - agree that nigella does seem a bit manic this series - she has an over-excited grin all the time that cracks me up - love her and her food though!!
I just made the hokey pokey anyway - it didn't set very well so popped it in the fridge to firm it up but it was still more chewy that brittle. Tasted nice initially but as you swallowed it there was the most awful taste of the bicarb that stayed in your mouth for ages - it was terrible! I followed the recipe exactly but think the quantity of bicarb was far too much, would add it very gradually next time. Really couldn't eat the first batch, even the kids couldn't bear it!!If Life Deals You a Lemon - Make Lemonade!! :j0
