i've just made some of this after remembering how nice it was and thought hubby would love a treat. thought others who may not of made it for a while or seen this thread as it was ages ago since lasted posted on might wanna try it so i thoguht i'd revive it . hoping to cover some of it in chocolate , but not sure it will last that long.0

made a batch for a works charity do and it has set but is very oily to touch - will this go?
Recipe was 100g syrup, 200g sugar, 40g butter and 2 tsbs water boiled and then vinegar and bi carb added to make it froth.
Hope someone can save my batch - it tastes yummy
I dont even have any kitchen towel to dry it.

what did you do with it in the end? Ive merged this with our cinder toffee thread, and im off to google as i don't know what it is!:o

I went and bought kitchen towel - it was only oily where it was on the grease proof paper. Once dabbed it was fine.
It is like the centre of a crunchy but it turns into toffee as you chew it.0 -
