Hi Hayley!
I thought I'd just pop into your diary after you sent such lovely well wishes on mine. I remember looking at yours some time ago and thinking that you seemed alot like me when it comes to spending money!
Your OH sounds like such a sweetie wanting to take you away on a minibreak for new years, you're very lucky. Although your new plan of a night in sounds lovely too. I always think new years eve out in town is very over rated and expensive anyway.
I'm very envious of your lovely new pot for saving money in. I am more than tempted to get one too- anything that helps me succeed in getting my overdraft paid off can only be a good thing.
happy new year!

Happy New Year Hayley, hope you had a great night last night.0

Thanks girlies, the same to you too.
Last night was lovely, and the meal i made was really good if i do say so myselfI made a really nice pasta dish for mains, and a really yummy (but fatty) dessert. OH has always liked this dessert Zizzi had on the menu, hot Banana & waffles, they no longer do it so decided i'd make it for him, and it was such a success, and very nice, but very filling. Then we watched one of our free films from blockbusters, 12 Rounds with WWE's John Cene (who's a bit of a hottie) and we have Fighting with Channing Tatum tonight.
I'm just having a chilled day today, the tree is gone, and now just watching films and deciding where I'm going to save money in 2010.
Pinkhayley - Thanks for stopping by, its always nice to have new faces pop in my diary.

Challenges for 2010: Sealed pot challenge n.o.855 - £365 in 365 days challenge (pay for xmas in 2010) £21 - Make £5 a day in Jan challenge £0.00/£1550 -
Right, need to start my £5 a day challenge, i really don't know where to start though hmmm. Off to check out the gambling section, may have some more good bingo offers, then may list some bits on ebay.
I have taken all the recycling to Sainsburys, sorted out my car boot as it was still full of carboot stuff, so thats gone into piles, stuff for cancer research, and stuff i will keep for a boot sale a bit later on in the year.
Just finished watching The Railway Children, and now watching the classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the old version, the best! Whilst watching that i will look for moneymaking ideas.

I set my alarm for 8am this morning as i wanted to be first down town and avoid the crowds, but i ended up getting up at 9.30  and not leaving for town till 10:30. Luckily town wasn't that busy and all i need to do was getting my nails filled, which only cost me £16, i was expecting it to be a bit more. I got my nails done on holiday for the wedding, acrylic french manicure, and my nails had started to grow, so needed to get them filled or taken off, i really love having pretty nails so decided to keep them
the only thing is i think its going to cost me £16 every 3 weeks to get them filled, hmmm, more expense when i should be saving, but they are very pretty though.
I was a good girl and didn't spend any money on clothes in town, just £10 in Wilkos buying toiletries.
Plans for the rest of the day, not alot really, OH is putting up all our new white doors, and I'm well, sort of being his little helper, and mooching on the sofa with the laptop.
We're going to treat ourselves to a curry take-away later, saves me cooking :j
Didn't find many money making ideas yesterday, but I'm going to have a quick look today.
More money was added to my sealed pot today and also a £1 to the £365 challenge. I'm doing well......but for how long?!The very best things in life ... are free!

Hiya,
I usedto get my nails done all the time when I was at college, loved them but it is expensive to keep up.
Sounds like you are being very good so far, hope you manage to keep it up!0 -
We have a nail technician at work so I get a 50% discount which is great. Thing is my job involves moving and setting up equipment so I have to be careful with nails and the last lot only lasted a few weeks before snapping off which was a shame. Might get them done again when I have some cash and get short ones.0

You are doing very well with your challenges :T. Welldone on not spending anything on clothes in town today. Wish I could say the same!
Also, very envious of your takeaway this evening- I really need to start cooking some dinner but am lovely and warm on the sofa in front of the fire.Money paid out from Topcashback so far= £105.89 :j

The first couple of weeks of the challenges are always the easy bit, normally by the end of January i have given up and spent the money i put in the pot. However, this year, i am sticking to it and won't be touching any of the money till December. I also plan to put £50 in the sealed pot every month, and then save £600 a month into a savings account.
Hayley - it was very hard to keep away from the clothes shops, i really wanted to go in Zara but my head told me no, i must've had my MSE head on today.
The take-away is a treat to give us a kick start to the working week next week, really not looking forward to it one bit. I'm loving the lazy days and doing things around the apartment. Ah well, hopefully one day we'll win the lotto and i can be a lady that lunches.
I might not be on much next week as i have to take my Apple Macbook to Apple in Bluewater tomorrow as the cd drive won't suck in my cd's so need that to be looked at and they will probably have to send it away. Its still got 4 months warranty remaining as its only 8 months old, so hopefully i won't have to pay anything.
Just been chilling this afternoon with skysports on watching the FA cup results come in and now watching Liverpool lose to Reading at the moment. If they lose that will make my day.
Yuk - thats good getting a 50% discount, wish i knew somebody who would do my nails. The very best things in life ... are free!
