Morning All. Welcome to Nades - I'm glad you got sorted with the SW password.
Everyone has got new avaters and I didn't recognise you all to start with!

Cats pyjamas - Dont put yourself down - You have given up smoking (I'm not a smoker but I appreciate it is an addiction and therefore v difficult to give up) That in itself is something to be v proud of. :T You have lost 2.5 stone (which I KNOW is v difficult) so another thing to be v proud of. :T We all have to have some satisfaction in life and if its having a few glasses of wine then so be it. Life would be dull if we gave up all the things we enjoyed.
When I joined SW people around me were losing 4-5lb a week and I was losing 1-2 a week. I always said when I joined that I was still going to have some of the things that I enjoyed and I have done, and I have lost a stone so far. Ok, its taken longer than others (about 3 months) but during that time i have never ever felt that I am depriving myself of something that I want. If I fancy a glass of wine I have one, If I fancy chocolate I have some...etc.
I think you have done great to get to the stage you are at.

honey, I am glad I am not the only who is taking the gradual slope to my goal, i am a strong believer that everything is about a balance, if I cut out the few luxuries that I have I would be a miserable cow but a skinny one I guess! Saying that its not like I am letting anything slip with regards to the main slimming world diet, I have had quorn sausages for brekkie and just munched on some grapes and some cherry tomatoes to keep me going at work! :rolleyes2 Got a 'mug shot' for lunch!

cats pj's i personally think you are just being normal to enjoy your wine, I am in the same boat like I say and last night had 3 glasses of wine and 2 bacardi and cokes - I probably would have been better off driving and not having the alcohol but as it was I had a brilliant evening  and thats all that matters! You know if it is you deciding when to drink cos you want to unwind or whether the drink is telling you that you need to drink to be happy.... thats where the difference is....

:hello: to everyone who has joined recently, its good to see so many faces on here, so many of us to support each other!!

I love the idea of the trampoline!! :j that sounds like good fun! I wonder if my kids would let me have a go tho

Think I might have to pop in to my local chemist as my scales at home have been contantly reading between 9st 8oz and 9st 10oz for the past week! They have gone bonkers (electric scales) as there is no way I have lost 2 stone overnight!! (I wish!!)

Lol Rachie, don't we all wish for scales like yours?
To all the people who like a glass of wine or an evening out.......have it! You only have the one life and you should enjoy it AND you can still follow the SW plan. SW emphasise that theirs is not so much a diet as a healthy eating lifestyle plan. You need to be able to keep it up for the rest of your life if you are to remain slim and healthy, and no way are you going to live without a glass of wine (or a choccy biscuit) now and then. So, you have to find ways to incorporate all the things you love and that is what syns are for. Sometimes you will go over your allowance - that's perfectly normal. Forget it and move on. Does anyone use flexible syns? If you know you're going to splurge, it's an option which leaves you feeling in control - it can be a lifesaver (or dietsaver anyway).
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Its the picture that goes under your user name. You can either use a photo or something cartoon-y. If you are techie minded you can do it all your self - if you go into user cp along the top of the screen and then into edit avater.
I aint techie minded - there was (not sure if there still is) a thread over in Moneysaving arms where a very helpful person gets one for you - I 'll nip in and have a look and see if its still there.
You need one of you waving a big stick :rotfl: :rotfl: (only kidding)!

Edit - the thread was in the Arms but it has been closed. You could try Pm-ing intel or iwanttosave - they seem to be the ones who were involved. Alternatively, if you get a piccie of something you like you could have a go yourself.

After my post earlier about having a bit of what you want and not depriving yourself I am going to contradict myself here -
I'm due for a weigh in tonight. I always weigh myself on my own scales or my mums on a Monday before I go. Last week I maintained, after putting on 3lb on holiday. I have been good all week, have counted everything in as syns. On Saturday night I had a bottle of wine but I counted it in, and ate "free" food all day. Yday we were out at the family "do" and I ate well, cous cous, salads etc and had a very small, and I do mean very small sliver of cheesecake -so small there was no base on it. I had no dinner as I wasn't hungry. Today I weigh the same again. What am I doing wrong? I'm at the stage where I am considering not going to class tonight as I know I will either have maintained or gained (per her scales). I don't want to go down that road as I want to keep losing weight - I guess I'm just pi55ed off this week. Any advice or inspiration

I'm sure I read on an earlier post about this-but I can't seem to find it. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

After my little binge during my holiday i've decided to write myself some notes in my scrap book (where i keep recipes and food plans) about how, although i felt I really craved it, certain foods are such a disappointment. I'm including pizza, choc cake and a burger king type meal. I took my time on each one to try and savour them but mostly i wished i was eating some low syn sweet and sour or some sw chips. There were still several types of food (my friend made choc brownies!) which were lovely which i'm going to try and fit into my syns allowence but i'm hoping the notes will help me ignore any future cravings!

I never believed people who said things like 'if you go without chocolate for months and months and then try eating some you'll find you won't want as much or it won't taste the same', but now i do!

I'm with you guys on the slow but satisfying weight loss plan! i'll get there eventually!
