Is that slimming world?? i THINK that porridge is free as long as it is the normal healthy variety and the milk will be a healthy extra? I will just double check!Official DFW Nerd 2100 -

Hi Sam and Swizzle, I agree with Rachie, but the other thing to do is to think about what you CAN eat / do, rather than what you CAN'T eat / do.
I'm not this board's most successful loser, 3lb disappeared last week after NOTHING for ages, but I'm not holding my breath that it won't have popped back on the scales with me again tomorrow.
However, I am trying really hard to walk more. I've got a pedometer - you can send away for one from All-bran and Bran Flakes (Kellogs) at the moment. So, even if you can't get to the gym every day  walking more is good.
And the other thing is not to give up on children and veg. My eldest was dreadfully fussy, and I got bored pandering to his tastes, so eventually I just started cooking and serving what I wanted, rather than what he liked. And he got desperate enough to eat it! Mind you he was 17 by that stage ...
Cooking: yes I find it dreadfully boring and time-consuming as well. Two suggestions for that: master a couple of really quick and easy dishes - our tomato-sauce-for-pasta goes with anything, and is basically tinned tomatoes simmered for at least 10 minutes! The boys add tomato puree when they do it: I don't bother. And we add herbs if the eldest isn't looking. The other suggestion is to cook double quanitities and freeze half or jig it up a bit for the next day. This doesn't work for me: doesn't matter how much I cook, the boys regard it as a challenge to finish it off. And DH is no help, even if I say "I think there should be enough of that for the two of us tomorrow" he keeps ladling it out until there's not enough left to be worth keeping! If I dish it and try to keep some back, they look at me as if I'm starving them!
Good luck!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Hi everyone. just found this thread thanks to Cheekymole. I would love to lose 1.5 stone and am going to try SW again. Did this a couple of years ago with some success but put it all back on and a bit more since! My downfall is chocolate. Does anyone have any low cal suggestions for when the cravings hit?0

Hi,
This weeks SW password is Strawberry.
Lost 3lb this week, which I am chuffed about. Having a bad week otherwise as my Gran is dying, we are just waiting, it is awful.
Good luck to everyone this week.
BethMisguided maybe, but never really bad!! :A0 -
Hi all.
My partner is doing weight watchers but not much is shifting so she is getting a bit down.
She is tracking all points and has just started light training to do the run for life so it is not a case of being lazy.
She went to her meeting on Monday to find she has put 1lb on!!! She was not happy.
When the course leader checked her diary she reckons she has not being eating enough - she is averaging 15pts out off 22 allowable. She is not starving herself but just being careful and making no point sauces.
She also quit bread a short while back (1mth) to see if that was stalling but having started on it again it would appear not.
She has done WW before and lost nearly 2 stone so we have dug her old trackers out to try those again.
Has anyone else had problems due to not enough food!!!

I have porridge (1 healthy "b") made with water and then add a bit of sweetener - yum
Cots, don't give up, don't you dare, 24th May is 3 weeks away and you WILL do it.I haven't got one!0 -
Hi nelly
I do WW and it works better if you use all your points up i know it might sound silly eat more lose more weight but it does work like that even SW is the same you can eat loads i used to go to SW but i wasnt losing much and i now know it was because i wasnt eating enough Thats why i tried WW because i knew exactly how much i was allowed to eat because of my daily points and ive had a lot more success when ive gone over a few points by the end of the week I had a bad week last week and put on and expecting a gain today as ive just been picking all the time but even if i have i will carry on and start again because i KNOW it works as ive lost 18 and a half pounds so i would say your OH's leader is right because i tried to do that when i started and because i wasnt eating enough put on/stayed the same or lost a 1lb and as soon as my leader told me to use all your daily points up i started losing more but ive had gains some weeks which is my fault not the WW plan0
