    HI,
After promising last Sunday that I would start again on Monday it all went wrong! I wa sin the US from Mon-Wed and just ate whatever I could (I'm vegetarian and they don't really cater for us veggies). Then when I got home on Thurs I had PMT and jetlag (Iwas lovely to be around!) and period started today.

Sorry my PC crashed half way through!

    HI,
After promising last Sunday that I would start again on Monday it all went wrong! I was in the US from Mon-Wed and just ate whatever I could (I'm vegetarian and they don't really cater for us veggies). Then when I got home on Thurs I had PMT and jetlag (Iwas lovely to be around!) and period started today.
    Will start again Monday...
Have been to gym twice though - Fri and Sat - with free 1 month pass for LA Fitness found on Freebies board - thanks for that, it's great and have decided to sign up for 18.99 monthly membership at the end of the free period - much cheaper than my old 38 quid a month gym. Got weighed on proper scales there too so at least know where I'm starting from! Too much! Want to lose 10lbs to begin with - here goes!

It's Monday now and I'll start again with the food - wish me luck!

Eep. Went to a bit of an event yesterday and had planned it well foodwise (quorn for the bbq, lovely huge salad and diet soft drinks) and managed to do really well right up to about 5 (arrived at 10am) when i suddenly weakened and went a bit mad on the gorgeous buffet laid out :(

I feel like i'm back to normal today so there's no question of not going back on the diet but i'm going to end up with my fingers crossed at the weigh in on wednesday. Again.

Have just looked through the photos from yesterday by the way. We're all dressed up to the nines and look excellent - it's just a shame that i'm so huge still! Motivation and then some! :D

    Hi All

I have just noticed this thread and have just looked through the last couple of pages. Are you all following the same eating plan and if so can you point me to where I could find it?

I am a busy stay at home mum of four, and last year managed to lose 2 stone (not a totally healthy way though). Since October last year most of it has creeped back on!! I have made the usual promises to myself that I will do something about it next week, always with an excuse to put it off till the following week! Today I put on a pair of trousers I bought a month ago which are getting a little snug around the waist, so I have resolved that today is the day to do something. I'm afraid I have always done "diets" by drastically cutting down on food, eg no breakfast, very little at lunchtime, so by evening I am ravenous. I know I am going to have to make some lifestyle changes as I have constantly yo-yoed for the past 25 years and each time the weight is harder to shift. Maybe by joining in here with you all, I might finally lose weight and keep it off!

    Thanks

    Sue

Ah sue - glad to hear you're so determined. Have you tried weight watchers/slimming world/another diet class? Some of them can be done online by weighing yourself at home each week and following their plan. There are people here following tescos e-diets and such like, i believe. If you haven't tried a structured diet like slimming world before then, if you can, give one a go. Find something that works for you and that's not too harsh on yourself!

Despite another good start on the diet today i've just wolfed down all manner of syns in shiny packaging. I'm starting to think i've accidentally knocked the on/off switch for the diet to 'off'. Suspect a gain on the scales will knock it back on :o

    Hi JenIttels

Yes I did try weightwatchers a few years ago but didnt do so well on it! I can see you mention "syns", is that just your terminology or is it related to a diet plan? I have tried Atkins, but didnt feel so good doing that one! I was wondering if anyone is doing the GI diet and what they think of it so far?

    Thanks

Hiya all, I just wrote to you, had to go away for 10 mins, then tried to post and it wouldn't let me! Sorry, the post has disappeared and I haven't time to re-think and re-write what I said!

I'm very hungry and gotta go off and get some grub! Hope you're all doing well - thinking of you. See you later. rm ;)

Syns are a slimming world term for certain types of food. I've not tried the GI diet though i've looked into it very briefly (i'm actually going to a Rosemary Conley dieting class as they do aerobics there but i'm following the SW diet). Rosemary conley does a version of it and it seems quite restrictive in some ways but it looks like it works. My problem is I have a huge appetite and so struggle with calorie/fat counting diets which is why Sw works for me (so far).

This board is quite quiet at the moment but hopefully you'll get some other opinions coming along soon from people more familar with GI than me!

Thanks for your reply JenIttels. Are you following Sw on line, and if so do you pay?

    Thanks

    Sue
